Wet, wet, wet!

Hi everyone.  Today's Addicted to CAS challenge is being run by me!!  I have picked this fun and versatile code word:

Prize: $15 Gift Voucher
(must follow challenge rules to be eligible to win)

There are so many different ways to interpret this code word ... literally (ocean, waves, rain, etc.) ... or there are a number of techniques that use water (watercoloring, watercolor spritz, water drops, etc.).  I have made several cards, which I hope will inspire you to join in the fun!!

Note:  for those of you wanting details of the recipe for each card, please scroll down to the bottom.

First up, I added waves to this cute digital stamp from our sponsor, called Sails Subs & Tugs ...

Here's a close-up:

____________________

The next card is "double" water ... water in the fish bowl, and I used water for my technique.  Again, I used a sweet digital set from our sponsor, called Splashes ...

Here's a close-up:

____________________

The third (and final) card uses the watercoloring technique (one of many) ... this one is done with diluted re-inkers and an Aqua Painter on watercolor paper.  I used a new set from Stampin' Up! called Simply Sketched ...

Here's a close-up:

I hope I have inspired you to join in our fun challenge ...  Addicted to CAS - Water. Come check out all the wonderful creations by the other Design Team members.

Card #1 (Life's a Breeze) Recipe:

Stamps:  Sails, Subs and Tugs (Clearly Digi Stamps); Beach Sentiments (Amy R)
Paper:  White (C.C. Designs); Pacific Point (SU!)
Ink:  Real Red (SU!); Copics:  R27, R29, Y21, W4
Accessories & Tools:  Big Shot, Wave die (MFT), rainbow-striped washi tape (Doodlebug), Stamp-a-ma-jig, glue, and dimensionals

The image is printed onto my card front and then colored with copics.  I printed off an extra flag, placed rainbow-striped washi tape over and then cut it out and glued it on top.  I added a whole length of washi tape to the inside of the card for interest ... you can just see the corner peeking out, but the stripes are all colors of the rainbow - love it!  The sentiment is from Amy R ... she has THE best sentiment collection!

Card #2  (Hugs and Fishes) Recipe:

Stamps:  Splash (Lisa's Doodley Doos)
Paper:  White, Whisper White, Gumball Green (SU!)
Ink:  Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point (SU!):  Copics:  Y21, YR07, YR24
Accessories & Tools:  Big Shot, Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Grass die (Cheery Lynn), acetate sheet, water, sponges, adhesives, glue, and dimensionals

I sponged Whisper White cardstock with Tempting Turquoise and Pacific Point inks. Then I used a squeeze bottle to place just a little water in my hand and then flicked it onto my sponged cardstock.  I used a paper towel to blot up the excess water.  The card front is cut with a circle nestability ... I just had my top cutting plate line up below the top of the circle so it only cut a partial circle, then I just cut along the top with my scissors.

Again, I used a sweet digital stamp from our sponsor for this challenge (Clearly Digi Stamps), called Splashes - designed by Lisa Lara (Lisa's Doodley Doos).  The sentiment is also from the set.  I used copics to color the fish and then fussy-cut them out and adhered them on top of the "water".

I placed an acetate sheet to the back of the die-cut card front to give the fish bowl shine, and then glued a small strip of grass to the bottom.  The card front is popped up on the card base.

Card #3 (Watercolored Poppies) Recipe

Stamps:  Simply Sketched (SU!)
Paper:  White, Watercolor
Ink:  Staz-on Black, Pumpkin Pie, Tangerine Tango, Real Red, Old Olive (SU!)
Accessories & Tools:  Aqua Painter, Paint Palette, Water, Stamp-a-ma-jig, adhesives, and dimensionals

I stamped the image onto watercolor paper using the Staz-on Black ink.  I put three drops of re-inker for Pumpkin Pie, Tangerine Tango, Real Red and Old Olive into separate cups in a paint palette and added three drops of water to each to dilute.  I used my Aqua Painter to add the diluted ink to the image.  I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig for placement of the sentiment.

A great challenge for this hot season: Cool water. Liked all your interpretations of your 'water' theme. Loved your w/c technique, and recognized the delightful waves on your sailboat too. Loved the washi tape sail on your boat bobbing on the waves too. Marvelous cards, TFS

Amazing cards Loll, really inspiring! My favorite is the second one, such a cute fish bowl and the technique you've is perfect! We are just on our way to do some travelling for 1,5 weeks so I might not have time to play in your challenge but it would have been really fun! Enjoy the summer days!
