Just Saying Hello

Hi everyone.  Playing along with this week's Less Is More Challenge #282 - Use a Stencil.  Had to play along as I do LOVE to stencil. :)

Lightly sponged bright yellow through a lattice stencil ... to me, it looks as though the sun is shining through. :)

Just got this pretty die from Penny Black.  Used watercolour paper to die-cut the flower sprig and distress inks to watercolour.  Pressed ink onto my craft mat, picking up colour with a wet brush to add to the watercolour paper.  So easy to do.

After the sprig was dry, I shaped the flower heads and leaves a little with my stylus and mat; then glued it down over top of the stenciled background.  A simple white heat embossed sentiment on black finishes the card.

There's still a few days left to play along before the stenciling challenge closes ...  come join in the fun.  There are so many inspiring cards from the Design Team and entrants.

Since I used a snippet of watercolour paper, I'm heading over to the Snippets Playground for some fun. :)

Thanks for stopping by for a visit!

I love the idea of painting a die cut after it's cut! Never even thought of that. Yours is so beautifully formed and always love your partial stenciling on your background. That clean font in white on black is perfect for this!

Like that die a lot and how you used it. Have been doing more sponging over a stenciling for my backgrounds. Easy technique and makes an impact in a soft way. Thank you for the inspiration, how to and examples!
Have had family visiting so just got around to commenting on your Happy Thoughts card and family photos...

Wow Loll - this is perfect! Right from the stencilling, through the wonderful die cut and then the sentiment as a bold and just right finishing touch!
