Playing with Silver Glimmer Paste

Hi everyone.  Sharing a QCAS card (as Dolly would say --- quick, clean and simple).  I recently bought some Nuvo Glimmer Paste and wanted to give it a try.  At the retreat, we spent a morning playing with all different types of mixed media that could be used for snow on cards.  This was one of them.

There's amazing sparkle from this glimmer paste and it looks so elegant against the black.  I used a large snowflake stencil and added the paste.  Once dry, I simply heat embossed a sentiment in silver.  The sentiment does shine, but hard to capture with the camera that is fooled by the snowflakes. :)

Here's a close-up ...
I will warn that my first container I received in my order of Nuvo Glimmer Paste was completely dry.  I contacted SSS and they contacted Nuvo and a new container was sent to me.  The second container is fine, but I have decided I need to use this paste sooner rather than later to avoid the possibility of it drying out before I can use it all.  I've added a piece of cling wrap under the lid to help seal as added protection.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit!

Edited to add:  My dear friend Christine reminded me that this makes a lovely masculine Christmas card, so I'm adding it to the CAS Christmas June gallery ...

Beautiful - such a lovely contrast with the black cs! And thanks for the tip about putting some cling wrap under the lid - I had a jar dry out very quickly.

It is a stunning combo to have that silver paste on black. Thanks for the tip on using the supply sooner rather than later. Sometimes we crafters hoard too long!

Love that acronym and what a beautiful simple style for your gorgeous sparkling card. I have some of the paste, NBUS, so I must check it. I had some of the Nuvo mousse, 3 jars, of which all were so dry, I couldn't rehydrate it. I saw a video where the same thing happened to the person; she contacted tonic, and they replaced it. So I did too. It took a while, but finally after a couple of reminding emails that they had promised to replace, I did get the replacements. This is disappointing when such happens, as this stuff is not cheap. One may not use it quickly, and if you are storing it properly, then it should not be drying out! TFS & Big Hugs

Wow Loll what an amzing Masculine card :) Thanks for the heads up on using quickly I have so much stuff that's dried. I don't think it's just Tonic but anything that's semi fluid may dry up. I have had Viva decor 3D stamp dry on me. Perhaps smaller is better :)
Awesome card and love all the sparkle :)

The glimmer stenciled snowflakes are so sparkly and elegant against the black card base, Loll!
I have a jar of Moonstone (I love it!), and I wanted to see how the glimmer paste of other color looks on actual card stock. Now I know that Silver Gem looks fantastic. It'll be on my shopping list. :-)
Thanks for the tip of using a piece of cling wrap as added protection! Hideko xx

I love that their white paste showed up so white on the black. I don't have this paste but do have another brand I have not yet tried. Love the results of this one and the simplicity of the design.

Gorgeous! It sparkles so prettily (or should I say handsomely) against the black background. Thanks for the tip about them possibly drying out. :)

This is so shimmery and sparkly. Just lovely. I used cosmic shimmer paste called sparkle on black c/s and it came out sparkly blue! I was real surprised. I've had my Viva Inka Gold has all dried out, both large and small jars. I bought the small jars at a craft fair and when I got home, they were already dried out when I opened them. I have heard using a mix of glycerin and water will re hydrate them.

Look at all that glittery goodness! I bet it was fun to lift up the stencil and see the results! That is the second time I heard that about the Nuvo pastes. Good to know to use them rather than save (hoard) them!

Such a classy and stunning effect. I too have had trouble with drying out of the glitter pastes...not this make but was advised to pop some water into them before putting the lid back on....However, love your idea best....use them quick!! x

Your card is beautiful and I'm sure in person it really sparkles. A few years ago, I picked up a bag of several containers of different colored paste and lucky for me none of them have dried up. I rarely use them, but I'm happy I have the option to use them, when I think of them. LOL! Thanks for sharing your experience and the tip. Enjoy your day!

Super schparkly and gorgeous, Lolly! Now I wish I hadn't messed up my "play" card like this! But, hey, guess what, I bought some so now I can make another one! Yay!! Thanks for the tip on them drying out. I haven't opened them yet, so I'll check it out and add the cling wrap! Hugs, Dolly

Beautiful men's Christmas card, Loll. The silver glitter looks lovely on the black, very elegant. I asked DH what is a masculine Christmas card, he said anything that doesn't have flowers on it! LOL x
