Twofer Challenge #8

Hi everyone.  Today is the start of the August Twofer Card Challenge.  The word prompt this month is ...
Remember to follow the challenge badge below and include the word prompt from the badge above, and include a picture on your blog of the two cards together.

I used a hexagon die that was gifted to me by a sweet friend.  I used all things from my stash, so it was basically designing and adding the stamped sentiment or a little bit of sponging through a stencil.  Love when that happens.

Here's the first card ...
The background for the hexagon was in my stash.  It's a piece of smooshing with re-inkers.  I have a video - Saturated Watercolour (Smooshing with Re-inkers) if you'd like to check out this quick and easy technique. Using reinkers gives you very bold colours, which I love. I have used pink, light orange and dark orange for the piece above.  I used a chicken wire stencil to sponge light orange ink onto my card front, then popped up the hexagon on foam for dimension.  A white heat embossed simple sentiment was added along with a white die-cut flower.

Here's the second card ...
For this card, I used the hexagon die to cut an aperture for my card front.  The watercoloured background is from my stash as well as the flowers.  They are a snippet of a larger flower spray that was too big for an earlier card, so cut about 1/3 off and saved it for later.  Later is today! :)  The sentiment was heat embossed in gold to match the flowers.

We are thrilled to have two Guest Designers with us this month.  Welcome to Cheryl (Paper Panacea) and Brenda (Inkspired to Stamp).  Please drop by the challenge blog to see the amazing cards from Cheryl and Brenda, along with the fabulous cards from the rest of our Designers.  Then come play along.  Reminder the challenge is open for two weeks.  It closes at midnight (PDST) on August 24th.

Beautiful cards, Loll. Adore the vibrant color in the hexagon on the first card. And how you used the same colors, but softer in the second card. Thanks so much for sharing.

The vibrant, saturated colour on both your cards is just wonderful, Loll ... rich and deep as a background to the crisp white bloom ... and bright and summery on that beautiful floral sprig! A delicious Twofer! Hugs, Anita :)

These are beautiful and I love how you used one as the die cut and one as the aperture. I always learn so much from you and I just watched the re-inker smooshing again. I love the look that gives.

Both of these are just beautiful, Loll! Love the blend of warm colors on these. Your geometric design is fantastic and love the beautiful watercoloring on the flowers. I am still amazed at the fussy cutting you are willing to do and love how it looks in the die cut window.

Your cards are gorgeous, Loll! I love how you created both backgrounds and how you made the hexagon the star of the show! Beautiful color palettes, too! Thanks for inspiring us to play along with the Twofer challenge :)

Love both of these cards Loll! The first one is so pretty in those colors and I love the little white flower on top of the geometric shape. Love the chicken wire inking too, looks great! The second card is just beautiful. Those flowers worked out well in your geometric shape and again I love the background. So pretty as are the colors. Hugs, Brenda

Two beautifully created cards here Loll. Both background are stunning. Love the hexagon stenciling on the first card and the crisp white flower and sentiment. The flowers embossed in gold and the colours on the second one are gorgeous. Love the way you have them hanging over the edge. I do remember your previous card with those beautiful flowers. Isn't it great when you have bits left over to recreate on another card.

Wishing you a fun-filled weekend,

Loll, these are both so beautiful! Love the use of the chicken wire stencil with the hexagon die in the first one! And the flowers in the second one are so lovely peeking out of the hexagon opening! Beautiful colours on both cards too.

Two terrific twofers from snippets, Loll! The colours are beautiful and vibrant. The gold embossing on the second card accentuates them so well. Really love the design of the second with the flowers flowing out of the aperture. xx

What a gorgeous pair of card Loll! I love how the first one looks so bold and contemporary and the second one is so soft and pretty. I love that much of what you used was already in your stash! Perhaps I should stop binning things that don't look right and save them in case I can use a snippet.
Hope you are well.

Two fabulous cards, Loll - just love the hexagons! Stencil and smooshing looks amazing on cards one and I love the window with the flowers on card two!!

Both cards are lovely as usual, Loll! And to think you made them from bits and pieces of "left-overs" is frosting on the cake! The second is my fave. And I just got an octagon die, so thanks for inspiring!!

You have lots of treasures in your stash, Loll! I love the contrast between the bold ink smooshed hexagon die-cut positive and the soft watercolored background behind the hexagon die-cut negative! The diagonal line of the chicken wire stenciling is a great design element. The spray of flowers coming out of the hexagon window is so pretty - love your Zig coloring! Hideko

You have such a magic touch with colors of the warm sunset, Lolly! The colors in your first card are actually HOT! (I need to try that smooching!) I love the chicken wire stencil paired with your bold hexagon and keeping the flower silhouette and simple sediment white was perfect! Your second card is better than a real bouquet! The softer background behind your flowers is just mwah and I love that you embossed the flowers and sediment in rich gold! Hugs, Dolly

Two beautiful cards, Loll! I love the white flower die against the bold colors on your smooshed hexagon, and the stenciled background reflects the look perfectly! Those flowers pour out of the hexagon window so beautifully and I love the look of those colors with the gold embossing!

Yes great when you can use up 'bits' in your stash and then produce two fabulous cards. Love the vibrant colours on both of your cards. Great technique on the first card for the background hexagon and loving the stencil work. The white die cut flower looks perfect on it. Wow to your second beautiful card too, the flowers looks so pretty and love how they are tumbling out of the geometric shape x. Always good to keep things in your stash and glad today was the day to show case them x Wonderful inspiration cards Loll ....Thank you x.

These cards are like positive and negative. I love both versions. The first card is more determined, strong colors, more economical in the content perfect for a guy. And the second card is so feminine, soft and delicate. An amazing set.

I wouldn't mind shopping your stash, Loll. You have some great things in there. I guess hexagons are the way to go and yours went out of sight. Gorgeous both of them.
