Hi everyone. Over the past couple of weeks, I've been playing in my studio with different products and techniques. So much fun!! :)
The coloured panel on the above card is done with three different coloured spray mists (yellow, orange, magenta) onto watercolour paper. I added a few drops of Frost Acrylic paint to each of the watercolour sprays. While it was still really wet, I placed a piece of slightly scrunched cling wrap over top and let it dry for an hour. Once it was removed, this is what I got. :) It's a very subtle design. The frost seemed to separate from the colours and it pooled where the cling wrap stuck, so the design is sparkly and sort of silver coloured. Beverly at SCS told me about this technique, and I'm so glad she did! :) Thanks Beverly!
The card above was inspired by a few challenges. I used embossing paste over my tulip stencil, so this is for Happy Little Stampers April CAS Challenge - Stenciling ... and SCS CAS Challenge #320 - Stencil it. And I was inspired by the photo from AAA Cards #37 - It's Springtime - aren't those tulips gorgeous??!! :)

ReplyDeleteSo pretty! One of my favorite techniques - an old watercolor trick I learned from my mom. I just did the very same thing last week but used black paste - striking! Great stencil!

Love the wonderful stenciling, and thanks for detailing your use of the cling material. Blick is out of the liquid w/c I think you are using, plus I'm waiting (still) for the new Brusho colors to get back in stock. Can't wait to try some of this fab play you are enjoying. ReplyDeleteHi Cheryl! I used liquid watercolour concentrate for my sprays, just mixing about an ounce with 3 ounces of water and then adding just a few drops of frost paint to get the shimmer.
