Hi everyone. Today I'm sharing two more cards for Group of Cardmakers. I am loving this combination of techniques!
This time I used the Rose embossing folder from Tim Holtz. It is 3D, but not detailed with lots of open space around the roses. Turns out the brayer is very attracted to the open spaces and I ended up with gold paint on the highlights of the embossing, plus a lot in the background. The images still are beautiful, so I cut around the best parts and made two CAS cards. :)
Thanks for stopping by!

These are very beautiful, Loll, a very interesting technique. Plus, I don't see a speck of gold where it shouldn't be! 😁
ReplyDeleteStunning!
ReplyDelete=]
I love the colours Loll and and the gold highlights are beautiful, and the white rectangular apertures work well on both, also a lovely coordinating green sentiment on each. x
ReplyDeleteAwesome card, fab technique.
ReplyDeleteThese look stunning. Such a clever technique xx
ReplyDeleteWow, Loll this is simply gorgeous! Love the wonderful metallic look!
ReplyDeleteWonderful vibrant colour choices! Two beautiful cards.
ReplyDeleteLoll, your card will definitely bring sunshine to someone's day! The embossed piece may not be as you initially planned but it turned out to be so gorgeous. Isn't that the way art works sometimes? Love this!
ReplyDeleteSo rich looking, Loll, beautiful. :)
ReplyDeleteAmazing result on these gorgeous cards. x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards Loll. You are really doing a great job with this technique. The roses are so pretty with that gold embossing.
ReplyDeleteLovely, lovely cards Loll! I absolutely LOVE the gold against the colorful backgrounds...so striking! You have definitely aced this technique my friend!! Hugs. :0)
ReplyDeleteThe link has denied me access to the group blog, Loll. I was going to see the technique but whatever it is, the cards are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThese look great. That gold really helps the dimension stand out. I am happy to report that today I painted those Penny Black little bears that you sent me. Now I just have to make them into cards. Thanks for the little gift xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Loll, the roses are so pretty in the gold xx
ReplyDeleteAmazing! Just look at that colour, Jo x
ReplyDeleteGosh, this is beautiful! I love how you use color. Despite the challenges the end result is spectacular and very frameable! I've found that a lot of the TH 3D folders are more subtle than others. I have to look closely to see any gold in the open spaces, but what I do see enhances rather than detracts. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThis pretty technique yielded two beautiful cards, Lolly! How nice that you can spread the beauty twice!
ReplyDeleteOh, how gorgeous are both of these cards!! The colors and richness with the gold is pure luxe!
ReplyDeleteTwo stunning cards - such pretty colours and I adore the gold xx
