To finish the card I stamped a sentiment (Festive Snippets - Penny Black). A dotty border was added (Hemstitch die - Spellbinders) overtop of red cardstock; then adhered to my card base. It just adds something special. :)

WOW! Both for your card and your magnolia!! This stamp is truly beautiful. I love all the fine details, and the platinum embossing really works and adds elegance to this card. I love the subtle sheen of the embossing powder, even if the image details are a bit faded. It looks truly amazing. Of course, your watercolors elevated this image to a higher level. I love these huge magnolia blossoms. They're my favorite magnolia blossom shape; they look like spherical candles. Gorgeous!

I do miss the National Arboretum - we used to visit every spring to see the magnolias and cherry blossoms. My favorite was a magnolia tree with soft yellow blooms. It was fun watching it grow over the years.

ReplyDeleteWow your magnolia is magnificent! It's stunning. You must be enjoying it so much. Love the cardinals card - I've used that stamp but never thought of using platinum embossing powder with it. I like the way it softens it all and gives a more wintery look than stamping it in black. And I always like seeing the hemstitch border.

ReplyDeleteYour card is so lovely and I know even more beautiful in person. Embossing is tricky to photograph accurately. Sigh... birds and Penny Black are two of my weaknesses, along with a few others, tsk. Such a gorgeous card. And speaking of gorgeous -- wow! Your magnolia is amazing! What a sight to see! You live in such a lovely setting. A minute ago a gust of wind came up and the cherry blossoms went flying across the landscape. Hopefully most will hold on a while longer.
