Hi everyone. I experimented with watercolouring following a video link on the Wednesday Watercolor Challenge from a few weeks ago on Splitcoast Stampers.
I do not know how to draw, but I thought with all the cards I've made over the past 25 years+ using stamps and ink, that I could watercolour. It's a lot different watercolouring your own image. :) The video relied on a fan brush, which I couldn't get to work for me. But the video did help me create my own way of watercolouring this tree. :) In the end, I used distress re-inkers, along with a round brush and flat brush on cold press watercolour paper.
I'm hoping with lots of practice, I will improve. I was happy with my first tree, so made it into a card for Jeremy's birthday. :)

Geez, Loll, it looks absolutely fabulous to me and I know it will to Jer, too! You're so good! I'm really glad you're able to be in your crafty space more lately. I enjoy the results!
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job watercoloring your tree Loll. I really like it and I know Jeremy will too. TFS
ReplyDeleteYour first tree is marvelous, Loll. I think watercoloring a scene, not a stamped image, is difficult and you are off to a great start. Keep practicing.
ReplyDeleteGreat watercolor. I love the details you created, the tiny "leaves" around the trunk at the bottom of the tree, the thick grass at the base of the trunk. You used the watercolor beautifully to create a card for your son. It will be a very special card.
