Birthday Cosmos

Hi everyone.  I made this card with three challenges in mind.  First, Inkspirational Challenge #374 - Word Prompt - Garden.  The second challenge is for Darnell's IDEAS calendar.  This week is embossing.  The image on my card is heat embossed. :)

And the third challenge from last week at Splitcoast Stampers, CAS911 - Gems.  I rarely use gems on my cards, and I had to wade through the box of lots of pearls and sequins to find this little tiny package of gems from Pretty Pink Posh that wasn't even opened yet.  I'm never sure of the placement, but hopefully they look OK. :)

I stamped the Cosmos in black ink, heat embossed with clear on mixed media paper and then watercoloured with my Zig markers.  Very fun and relaxing.  I used a new-to-me sentiment from Hero Arts - Togetherness Flower stamp set for the sentiment banner at the bottom.  I covered the card front with a piece of Pear Pizzazz card stock and popped up the panel for some dimension.

  1. Beautiful bright colors on your lovely floral stems and your card base Loll! So pretty with the shading on the blooms. The gems add a nice little sparkle - (Regarding placement: I have read that #1 you use an odd number of them and #2 you start at one side maybe nearish to the top then put one on the other side near the middle and a final one near the bottom on the first placement side - this draws your eye around the card from top to bottom) Thanks for joining us at Inkspirational: Garden! 3. This is such a joyful, vibrant card. I love your coloring, as if the flowers were illuminated by the sun. Just like in nature, when the petals are so delicate. Adding the sparkles was a great idea; you can never have enough gems on a card :-)

  4. I love the daintiness of Cosmos and you colored them beautifully, Loll. I'm not much of a gem user either but you did good.
