Vintage Tea Cup

Hi everyone.  Today I have something different to share.  I don't usually do vintage style cards that have layers, but I was asked by my son Jeremy, to make a card for a friend's birthday.  The party is High Tea in Vancouver and he wanted the card to reflect the theme.

I started with the background.  Smooshed brown and red watercolour sprays and then when dry, stenciled over top with a damask image in crackle paste.  The layer behind the smooshing and crackle paste is Early Espresso card stock which has been roughed up with a distressing tool I bought a long time ago.

The teacup (Pop Rose Tea Cup - Stampendous) and lilies (retired) were both heat embossed with Liquid Platinum embossing powder and then watercoloured (sprays for the flowers, distress inks for the tea cup).

To finish, I heat embossed the sentiment (retired) in white embossing powder onto more Early Espresso card stock and attached with a staple.

CAS Watercolour April Challenge

Hi everyone.  Today is the start of the CAS Watercolour April Challenge.  I'm hosting this month and I chose a flower that I LOVE to watercolour.

My dear friend, Susan, gave me this image a few years back ... yes, I've neglected it!  But no more.  I had this in mind when I picked the challenge.  It's a vintage image with some script in the background.  I stamped the whole thing in soft tan ink, leaving the background as is, and watercolouring just the poppy.  I'm happy how it turned out. :)
