Thanks and Birthday Daisies

Today's card is for the Color Challenge at SCS (CC387) - old olive, midnight muse, raspberry ripple.  The option (dessert) is to make a CAS card  ... :)

I used a sentiment from Paper Smooches and just added a small flower accent and some polka-dot DP for interest.  Another easy and quick card using my "go to" layout.  Hope you like.

"Thanks"

Stamp: Chit Chat (Paper Smooches)
Paper:  White, Midnight Muse, Old Olive, Raspberry Ripple, Old Olive polka-dot DP (SU!)
Ink:  Midnight Muse (SU!)
Accessories & Tools:  Leaves die (C.C. Designs), Hydrangea punch (Martha Stewart), white half-pearl, glue dot, and adhesives

I stamped the sentiment in Midnight Muse ink and colored it in with my Stampin' Write marker (the sentiment is an outline stamp).

I added the pearl to the center of the flower, pinched the petals upwards to give the flower some shape and used a glue dot to secure it on top of a leaves die (which I had cut down to include just two leaves).

I added the polka-dot DP and Midnight Muse cardstock strip at the top and also at the bottom of the inside panel.

I made a card last night for the CAS Challenge at SCS (CAS182) - dark blue and white.  I used my daisy and sun punches again to create flowers for the card (see my tutorial on 3D Daisies).  Hope you like.

"Birthday Daisies"

Stamp:  Happy Moments (SU!)
Paper:  White, Night of Navy grid DP (SU!)
Ink:  Night of Navy (SU!)
Accessories & Tools:  Large daisy and small sun punches (Punch Bunch), mat, stylus, glue, and dimensionals

I punched nine large daisies from white; pinched, shaped and layered three together for each flower.  The middle of each daisy is just one small sun punch from the Night of Navy grid DP, shaped with the mat and stylus.

I cut the grid paper to size and also cut two the same size out of white cardstock.  I glued the layers together with the grid paper on top to create a thick panel.  I added the panel to the card front, popping it up with dimensionals to add depth.

The flowers were mounted using glue dots.

  1. Love the design of the thanks card, with just that pop of raspberry for the flower - very eye-catching. The daisies on your second card look fab with the sun-punch centres. And to think I nearly got rid of my two sun punches! They have a new lease of life thanks to you :-)

  2. I really love these white daisies against the dark blue grid paper and I never thought about backing a panel with card stock to make it heavier. Genius! I've got to check out your tutorial cause I'm lovin these flowers! I like the first card lots too, but those daisies really got me.
