Soft Maple Leaves

Hi everyone.  This card is for a couple of challenges.  First up, SCS Featured Stamper this week is Karren J.  I LOVE Karren's style of card making ... and I CASED (copy and share everything) this card.  I kept the main design the same, with a sponged background of yellow and green, stamped script and leaves.  I changed it up a little by adding splatters of water, along with suede lacing, charm and twine.

This card is also perfect for the Mixed Media Card Challenge #1 - Touch of Nature.

It's down to the final days to enter this challenge (it closes July 25).  There's lots of amazing cards and tons of inspiration in the gallery, so I hope you'll check them out and enter the challenge if you haven't already.

Edited to add:  My friend Sandie mentioned that my card above qualifies for the latest challenge at Inkspirational (#61 - Word Prompt:  Splash) ... so I'm entering. Thanks Sandie! :)

  2. Beautiful card Loll, love the green colouring. Seeing the leaves like that tempts me to buy a leaf stamp, have to say thats the rirst time ever for me. Never been into Autumn cards but this use of the leaves and green colour all over is really yummy. Have to say I had a little chuckle to myself, saw where you said added....wine..... Ohhh no thats twine. Must be thinking its time for a drink :)

  7. I always start with an "oooh" when your card starts scrolling in. This one is no exception. Wonderfully soft sponging in some lovely colors for the maple leaves. My water spots never look this good, so I'm impressed with the water spots too! That suede trim was just perfect with the cool green shadows on this pretty card, and loved the silver charm with the cool colors too. TFS & Hugs.

  19. Gorgeous to the max, Loll! Your sponging is delicious, and the leaves are the perfect image for this colour/technique. The splatters are such a special touch. Maybe I could persuade you to do a video or even photo tutorial of how you create these gorgeous backgrounds, pretty please? I need some lessons...desperately!
