Warm Woolen Mittens

Hi everyone.  Very busy week for me ... I'm have twelve for dinner on Sunday and decided that buffet-style would be the best.  That way I could make up some things ahead and freeze so that when Sunday comes, I will have some time to sit and enjoy my company.  So far, so good ... three desserts and one main dish in the freezer already - yay!  Because of all my baking / cooking ... haven't had as much time in the studio as I would like.  Let's face it, unless I was in there full time, it's never enough :)

Today I'm sharing a super CAS Christmas card that only took a short time to make. Unusual for me, as I must be one of the slowest crafters in the world! :)

Love these mittens, especially cut from red felt.  I've added a snowflake die for decoration, and a strand of white baker's twine to define the cuff.  I wanted to add a fun, whimsical sentiment to match, and this one from Paper Smooches is perfect.

Stamps:  Christmas Sampler (Paper Smooches)
Paper:  White (Neenah)
Ink:  Real Red (SU!)
Accessories & Tools:  Mittens die (Sizzix), Small Snowflakes die (Impression Obsession), red felt, white baker's twine

  10. Sounds like you were in the kitchen a lot Loll, I know how that feels. lol I am always in the kitchen baking and cooking for my family too. It's rewarding when your family enjoys what you make them and even more rewarding for you when you can sit down and enjoy the company without having to stay stuck in the kitchen. Good for you!! Now you can't be the slowest crafter in the world because that would be me. lol I'm very slow at card making and scrapbooking. Wish I could be fast and good, but I'm afraid that I'm neither, I just like doing it. Now this card is adorable!!! Love those fuzzy mittens. The snowflake accent is perfect and I love how you accented the cuff with the white twine. The sentiment is just perfect, the font is so fun and goes so well with those mittens! Hugs, Brenda

  16. A pair of these darling snow-flake adorned mittens would have been most welcome this week, given our unexpected crazy snowfall and cold temperatures! A most charming, adorable card! Your Sunday 'banquet' sounds most excellent; hurrah on deciding for buffet style to give yourself some visiting time. Three desserts? That would be destination #1 for me!! Have an excellent gathering!
