Christmas Angel

Hi everyone.  Today I'm playing along with the Merry Monday Challenge #153 - Angels.

This is the only Angel stamp I have.  And I've had it for a long time and believe I've only used it once.  Good to pull it out and ink it up! :)

Because the image is intricate, I decided to keep everything else very simple to give it a clean look.  The image, sentiment and border are all heat embossed gold.  Using the gold embossing powder around the outside edges of my card front, ensures that the whole card is all the same colour ... which helps with the clean look.

It was hard to photograph this card with the all the shine of the embossing powder.  It definitely looks better in real life.  I really need to work on finding a better solution for my photos.  It's on my 'to-do' list but will have to wait until I'm getting around better ... soon, hopefully!

It's a glorious, sunny and warm day here.  Hubby and I are both suffering with a virus right now, but I'm hoping to convince him to head out to the deck for some fresh air. The rain is supposed to be back with us by Friday so we need to take advantage today and tomorrow. :)

Stamps:  Christmas Silhouettes (Inkadinkado); Handy Christmas Greetings (Amy R)
Paper:  White (Neenah)
Ink:  Versamark
Accessories & Tools:  Gold embossing powder (Hero Arts), heat tool

  3. SO pretty Loll! I only have 2 angel stamps, and one of them is the one you used. I've never had much luck making a card I like with it, but I really like how you did it! I think the trick is keeping it CAS, just like you did...beautiful!! :0)

  20. I just linked my Angel card to the Merry Monday Challenge - and looking up a few links - I see the same stamp I used but the angel is facing in the other direction! and we both gold embossed her (which is the best way to use this lovely stamp I think!) I really DIDN'T copy your card Loll!! This angel really does stand up all by herself with all the pretty detail on it - hope you and DH are feeling better - nothing like sitting in the sun to help you feel stronger - we haven't had the sun for several days and we still in the 30's and 40's - will spring never come to MA???! Have a great weekend!
