Ghosting Splats

Hi everyone.  Just a reminder that we are already half way through October.  The CAS Mix Up October Challenge - Ghosting is open until Oct. 24th.  Come play along!



I used water splats to remove colour and create a ghosting of falling snow ... very subtle, but pretty.  Also super easy to do. :)

Here's a close-up ...


I started by sponging my background, flicked water, and then blotted with a paper towel.  I tore two strips of white card stock for my snow drifts, and adhered a beautiful street light die-cut given to me by my friend Marcia (Marcia's Stampin Pad).  Thanks Marcia!!  xx

Stamps:  Season's Gift (Penny Black
Paper:  White (Neenah 110 lb. card stock); Black (SU!)
Ink:  Distress Ink:  Peacock Feathers, Mermaid Lagoon, Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed (Tim Holtz); Black (Memento)

    What an absolutely beautiful blue that sky is Loll, and the ghosting used for snowflakes and the lantern with its wonderful yellow glow are just perfect!

    Loll this is stunning - love the sponging and the wonderful die cut you have used. The ghosting is so very subtle and beautiful.

    The glow from the die cut light is spectacular. Love the blended background and hint of falling snow. The snow drifts are beautiful. You've created an awesome scene.

    Another gorgeous example of this technique, Loll! I love the subtle effect of the ghosting, and how you blended your inks to add such a beautiful glow from the lantern...it's so pretty!

    Wondered when I was going to see this beauty and it's a great reminder to me to get this die out and use it myself! You did such an amazing job with this card Loll...love your beautiful background with the ghosting snow, the light coming from the lantern, and also that lovely sentiment! Fabulous card!! :0)

    Hmm, using the Ghosting technique to make droplets for a wintry scene - hadn't thought of that! Love it! I'll have to remember that! Very pretty and serene Christmas card!

    I just love that street lamp! Is there someplace to purchase that die? It is lovely! I can imagine many a winter scene that would include it.
