I LOVE this time of year. And I do love sunflower images and this is a beauty. It's a lovely image from Power Poppy (In Praise of Sunflowers).
I stamped the image in Toffee Crunch Momento ink (light brown permanent). I then watercoloured using distress inks (mustard seed, wild honey, shabby shutters, peeled paint, gathered twigs, ground espresso). I wanted to add a strip of patterned paper at the bottom and started looking for olive green paper, but came across this very old patterned paper from SU! in shades of brown. :)
To finish, I stamped the two-part sentiment (from In Praise of Sunflowers stamp set) in more ground espresso ink. :)

I saw how many colors you used to color the image, and it really shows! The image simply comes to life thanks to all those color nuances. This is really a big WOW!!!

I never get tired of seeing Sunflowers Loll...whether they're real or on cards, and this one is definitely a beauty! Wonderful coloring and I love the checkered piece on the bottom of the card too! Lovely, lovely card my friend!! Hugs. :0)
ReplyDeleteYou can never have too many sunflowers and this is one of my favorites! Your Distress watercoloring always looks so good. I love the brown checked DP, too, for grounding. As if the flower is growing out of the dirt. Hello Sunshine to you!
