I watercoloured on vellum to create a dreamy look watercoloured background. Vellum tends to curl when it gets wet, so I taped it down on my work surface on all four sides. I used a piece of acetate leftover from a stamp set I bought, pressed some colour of all three distress inks onto the sheet, spritzed with just a little water and them used the acetate to smoosh onto the vellum. I used my heat tool to dry the vellum. Once dry, I pulled it up, leaving the tape in place to hold it fairly flat and then lightly spritzed water onto the back. Just a little. This relieves the tension created from the wet front and the vellum won't curl as much. It's will still be a bit curled and warped from the water.
Once completely dry, I run the piece through my Big Shot with two clean plates. This presses the vellum and helps to smooth it out. You will never get it completely flat, but the slight warping does add interest. I glued the vellum to a piece of white card stock and left to dry thoroughly. A white die-cut of leaves and a gold stamped sentiment banner was added to finish the design.

Thanks for the tips about warping and I think that it is minimal on this piece, and from past experience it does help to back it on to something to give it more rigidity. x
