You Are Loved

Hi everyone.  It's time for the reminder about CAS Watercolour February Challenge - Heart.  The challenge is being hosted by the very talented Bonnie.

I didn't know where I was going with this card ... it just evolved and turned into something completely different than what I had in mind at the start.  The background is cold press watercolour paper.  I had created a background a while ago with orange and pink re-inkers and cling wrap.  I cut the flower heart from white for the front of my card and was going to just place it over top, but I wanted something with more umph! This means the original background wasn't going to show at all. :)  But the colour does add to the depth of the zig watercolouring I did on top.

First I used the card front as a template and outlined the image onto my watercolour panel using a metallic gold pen.  I used my zigs to watercolour the flowers in deeper colours.  Placed the die-cut panel over top and was happy with the results.  Stamped and heat embossed the sentiment in gold to match ... this is a great sentiment set that was gifted to me by a sweet friend.

I hope you'll check out the challenge blog to see the reminder cards from our wonderful Guest Designer, Sue (Sue's Card Craft) and our talented designers.  Then come join us!

OMG, Loll, I LOVE the rich beautiful tones you created by coloring over your reinkers cling wrap background with your Zigs. I have not tried that technique. What a cool way to save a watercolored background that isn't exactly the result you hoped to achieve. Love your die cut heart with your gorgeous background. A really stunning card my friend. Hugs...TFS all the details too!

Love that your heart card is so colourful Loll and moving away from the reds and pinks that are so popular this month. Simple and outstanding.

What a cool card Loll and I love how you worked to make the background more vibrant with the gold pen and the Zigs, and then still kept the depth and dimension using the die cut overlay. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! :0)

I've had a couple of those 'things aren't quite right' moments lately, Loll. Adding extra color was a great solution because they really shine through the die cut.

There's something almost stained glass about this delicious heart, Loll ... the intensity of the colour outlined in gold is just stunning ... glorious against the white! Hugs, Anita :)

I love the depth and vibrancy of the colors, Loll! Both colors and your design are so beautiful! I was wondering how you achieved the definition - the metallic gold pen! It's a great idea. It looks like you beautifully heat-embossed the inside-rim of the die-cut in gold. Hideko xx
