Hi everyone. Second post for today! ;) Click HERE to see my first post for the December Sketch Challenge at Happy Little Stampers.
There's a special challenge being hosted by the lovely Kylie (Kylie is Addicted to Stamps).
She is holding a Christmas card challenge on her blog. The prize ... a personalized watermark and signature for the winning entry (worth $40 US).
If you aren't aware, Kylie has started up a new business designing watermarks, signatures and blog headers. Kylie generously offered the service to her Design Team members (including me) ... so you can see the beautiful watermark above that she made for me ---- I LOVE IT!! And I love my new signature file that is just a little below. Same vine and font, but with colour ... so pretty!! :)

I can't take credit for the beautiful design of my card for today. This is a blatant copy of my friend Ingrid's card which can be found HERE. Isn't her card gorgeous!! :) My jaw hit the floor when I saw it and I had to make one for myself. Thanks for sharing your gorgeous creations Ingrid! I made a few minor changes ... moving the poinsettia to the bottom of the card, and including a red stamped sentiment (which doesn't show up well in the photo because of all the glittery embossing ... it looks much clearer in real life). I didn't follow Ingrid's technique for the background totally. I used the cling wrap, versamark and gold embossing powder, but instead of laying the cling wrap over the card front, I scrunched the wrap up and then pounced it into a versamark ink pad and then pounced it onto the card front before adding the gold embossing powder. Love the look!
The poinsettia is watercoloured with distress inks (Barn Door, Fired Brick, Aged Mahogany) using the wet-on-wet technique (click HERE to see a video tutorial on how I do this wet-on-wet watercolouring). I added some mustard seed distress ink to the center of the flower for background colour, and then coated it with gold stickles. So pretty!!

I'm entering this card (second entry) for the Time Out challenge (#19 - embossing with an optional twist of sparkle). I used heat embossing to make my golden, sparkly background.
