Penny Black - Autumn Decor

Hi everyone.  Today I'm playing with a new set from Penny Black called Autumn Decor (51-653).  It's a mix of dies that you can use separately or together.  Very versatile.
I started with a piece of background I had in my stash (smooshed pink and orange liquid watercolours).  I die-cut my sunflower blooms, sponged the edges with Rusty Hinge distress ink and then added the center piece which was watercoloured with Ground Espresso.  The flowers are two layers each, which are off-set and glued together in the center only.  To finish the blooms I just used my fingers to lightly bend the back layer petals to the back and the top layer petals to the front.  This created a lot of dimension.

The jar vase was cut from another piece in my stash of paper towel background done in shades of yellow.  I love how the quilted design from the paper towel looks on the jar.  The stems and leaves were watercoloured in Peeled Paint distress ink.

The sentiment (Gratitude 30-105) was stamped in a mix of Rusty Hinge and Ripe Persimmon inks.  Happy how it looks with the colours of the sunflowers.  Then I adhered the flowers and vase to my card front, popping them up for added dimension.

Hi everyone.  I'm so excited to announce that I have joined the Design Team for The Flower Challenge - YAY!  I do love making cards with flowers, so this is just perfect for me.  I'm thrilled to be working with a very talented group of Designers.  And this month, we have a lovely Guest Designer, Colleen Balija (Irish Rose Creations).  Welcome Colleen!

I started by creating a soft background with a stencil monoprint of tiny circles, done in soft green ink.

Once dry, I stamped the flowers and leaves in Archival Black ink and watercoloured using Distress Inks.  The simple sentiment was stamped in black before the image was die-cut using a circle die.

Very simple and quick card.

CAS Christmas October Challenge

Hi everyone.  It's the start of the CAS Christmas October challenge.  This month is hosted by Christine (It's a Card Day's Night) and she would like to see your CAS Christmas cards with ...

I just love this sweet image Cozy Cupfuls (Power Poppy).  This time I used Derwent Watercolour Pencils to colour my card.  These pencils were passed down to me from my son, Jeremy.  I use them very little, mostly for highlighting here and there, but today I had fun using them to colour everything. :)

CAS Mix Up October Challenge

Hi everyone. Today is the start of the CAS Mix Up October Challenge.  Viv (Viv's Visuals) is our host and she wants us to do "Tone on Tone" stenciling.  Awesome!  And we are thrilled to have Pat (Colourful Card Creations) as our Guest Designer this month.  Welcome Pat!

Started out with a smooshed background I just made with leftover ink from another project.  Distress ink colours Worn Lipstick, Mustard Seed, Aged Mahogany (AM is main colour).

Placed my Peeking Dahlias stencil (ARTplorations) over top, masking the second dahlia that is on the stencil.  Sponged over the one dahlia using more Aged Mahogany ink.  Stamped sentiment using Aged Mahogany to tie it all together.  I love this colour!
