Sunshiny Day

The weather has turned really warm for the past couple of days here on the Westcoast.  And it's supposed to continue on that trend for the next several days.  We were out the valley for the past couple of days with temperatures at about 30 degrees celcius (86 degree farenheit) ... and it's going to be even hotter today and tomorrow, before it cools a bit for Monday.  Nice to have several days in a row of warm weather ... it just hasn't happened here this summer.  I've also had a busy couple of days ... looking forward to taking it easy today and playing with my cards! :)

I actually made this card a couple of days ago ... just haven't had time to take a picture and write the post until now.  This is for three challenges:

Color Throwdown #203 (only orange, garden green, daffodil delight, marina mist and crumb cake)

... and CAS-ual Fridays (CFC64) - something you'd see in the sky

... and Dare to Get Dirty challenge by Kittie

I had fun making this scene and I immediately thought of the song "I can see clearly now ... have a bright, bright, bright ... sunshiny day".  I would love to be sitting on a bench like this, enjoying the sunshine ... hope you like it too!

"Sunshiny Day"

Stamps:  Park Bench (C.C. Designs)
Paper:  White, Crumb Cake, Garden Green, Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango (SU!)
Ink:  Early Espresso, Tangerine Tango, Marina Mist, Soft Suede (SU!)
Accessories & Tools:  Big Shot, Leafy branch and Grass Border dies (C.C. Designs); Puffy Clouds dies (Memory Box) Stamps); Large Sun and Mini Sun punches (Punch Bunch), sponges, mat pack, stylus, glue, and dimensionals

I stamped the bench in Early Espresso ink onto Crumb Cake cardstock three times.  One was cut out for the vertical posts and legs of the bench; one was cut for the horizontal slats and bench seat; and the third was cut for the seat only.  I sponged the edges of all pieces with Soft Suede ink and then glued the pieces together, adding the second layer of bench seat with dimensionals to give lots of depth.

I die-cut the grass, leafy branch, clouds and punched the large sun and mini suns (orange flowers).  I sponged the clouds with Marina Mist ink and the large sun with Tangerine Tango ink.  I shaped the mini suns with my mat pack and stylus to make flowers.

I assembled all the pieces and glued them down, adding dimensionals to the bench, sun and small cloud.

Fun card to make!
