Blooming Poinsettia

Hi everyone.  Today's challenge from Addicted to Stamps and More ... is a Theme Challenge (#4) - Flowers.  I used a sketch from an earlier challenge at ATS&M ... keeping the card CAS by having all three background layers white.

Poinsettias now come in a variety of colors and shades ... and this picture inspired me to make a Rich Razzleberry version.

Stamps:  Merry and Bright (sentiment) from Amy R
Paper:  White (Neenah); Rich Razzleberry, Gumball Green (SU!)
Ink:  Rich Razzleberry, Gumball Green (SU!)
Accessories & Tools:  Blooming Poinsettia die (Poppy Stamps), sponges, mat and stylus (for shaping petals and leaves), glue, glue dots, and dimensionals

All the layers of the card are white so the poinsettia just pops off the card.  This poinsettia die from Poppy Stamps is so beautiful and easy to use.  All the veining is done for you ... and it comes with the leaves as well.  I just cut them out using my Big Shot and then sponged the edges of all the petals and leaves with the corresponding ink colors to give the flower more depth.  As well, I used my mat pack and stylus to shape the petals and leaves.

Here's a close-up of the poinsettia.

Come and join in this fun challenge.  Check out the other fabulous creations by the Design Team for inspiration!

I saw this die today at the Impress store! Did not buy it but will very soon. Thanks for showcasing it. Do you ever use Savvy Dies? They are part of the Impress store brand. Love them too. So good to have you back again for inspiration. Hope all is going well. Sarah

Hi Loll...I LOVE your poinsettia. I finished my poinsettias card and linked to the ATS&M #4 Flower challenge....because of your encouragement :-) I wished I had had a die after all my fussy cutting. The good news...I do love cutting!
