Sunflower Tag

Hi everyone.  Quick post for you today.  First, wanted to mention that my computer has been acting up and I haven't been getting my emails.  So if you've sent me something recently and I haven't replied ... that's why ... and I've also missed several cards from crafters because of it as well.  Sorry about that.  I downloaded a fix yesterday and then did a diagnostic check and it didn't seem to matter.  But ... this morning, my inbox was hopping!! :)  So hopefully it's fixed.  :)

I had so much fun making this tag!!  It's for the Dare To Get Dirty Challenges at SCS  ... one more day before the challenges close.  This tag covers off four challenges (DTGD13KelliJo (photo inspiration); DTGD13whippetgirl (stitching); DTGD13busymomof2 (tag); and DTGD13jbgreendawnB (scraps).  I had this design running through my head all last night  ... not much sleep, but I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one that looses sleep because the creative juices decide to flow at night :)

Anyways, cut my own tag (2" x 3 1/2"), angled the corners cutting in from 1/2" in from the sides at the top and 1/2" down the sides from the top, and then punched a hole in the center of the angled area.  Easy, peasy.  Added a scrap of yellow gingham for the bottom and stamped sentiment on top, and used more scraps for the sunflower.  Added some faux stitching and raffia to finish (LOVE the raffia!).

Edit:  I just checked out the latest challenge at CAS on Sunday (Challenge #14) and it's "Tag It!".  Perfect!

Stamps:  Sweet Summer Sentiments (Amy R)
Paper:  White, yellow gingham, yellow polka-dot, Pear Pizzaz
Ink:  Early Espresso (SU!)
Accessories & Tools:  Big Shot, Sunflower die (C.C. Designs); tender leaves die (Memory Box), Itty Bitty punch (SU!), raffia, glue dot, adhesives, glue and dimensionals

What a sunshiney tag, and so cheery. I see a candy sunflower, methinks! SO pretty. Love your even stitching round the edges too. The crisp white & bright yellow checks made me think of a kitchen on a sunny morning.

on your comment about the sunset, and if I brayered, well, I try occasionally. I'm not real adept with it. I thought the same thing...Oh wish I could capture this (1) in a good photo (2) in a pretty card.

Also diecut some more copper leaves last night. I'm using the B.Shot, 36g copper, and a sizzix sizzlet (last time tried M.Box...didn't work well). I rolled back n forth many, many times, still ended up cutting out with TH silicone scissors. I had to use the #2 on the multipurpose platform (at #1 was too thick). I noticed you used the Sizzix leaf die, but do you have any more tips? Hopefully tomorrow we can torch & see what happens. Such a gorgeous look on yours!!

This tag is just a ray of sunshine Loll! love the gingham and that pretty flower! I gave up on trying to do all the challenges this year - just couldn't do it - I did it last year - but decided to just enjoy what I could do and not get stressed about it!! They are such fun and do get the creative juices flowing!

Love that sunflower and the yellow gingham paper! I couldn't sleep last night either. First for thinking about what I should have done on a card. Then I remembered the award bookmarks I was supposed to get done over the weekend and the class I have on Thursday. Should have been working on that instead of being a dirty girl! But it was sure fun trying to do as many of those challenges as possible!

I must say, I resent your skill in the nice stitch look, mine always comes out sloppy looking! Adorable tag Loll.
