Furry Christmas

Hi everyone.  Back with another animal Christmas card ... this one is for the LoveFest Challenge at SCS - Challenge A - Puppy Love.  There is an eleven day event with lots of challenges and prizes ... all being sponsored by SCS (Splitcoaststampers) member companies.  I'm hoping (finger's crossed) to complete all of the challenges - this is for first challenge.

I received this cute stamp set for Christmas from my good friend Darnell, who I call Dolly.  Thanks Dolly!! :)

I'm sure most of you know Darnell, but in case you don't, check out her blog djkardkreations.  She is fun and funny and very creative!

I colored this sweet image with my Copics and added some fun details with a white gel pen, dazzling diamonds and crystal effects.  This was my second go at this image ... the first one turned out too dark (the big dog was dark brown), so I changed up the large dog to make him a dalmatian ... at least I hope that's what he looks like and not a weird shaped cow :)  It made such a difference to have more white in the image and I'm happy with how it turned out.

Yesterday, my stamping buddy Susan came by for an afternoon of fun in my studio.  She brought along several of her embossing folders, stamps, and dies that I have admired on her cards, but I don't own.  And Susan spent time stamping, embossing and die-cutting from my supplies that were new to her.  SO MUCH FUN!!  It's great to be able to spend time with someone that has the same passion ... and it's great to be able to share our supplies - I was like a big kid in a candy store :)

Thanks Susan for being here yesterday ... can't wait until we can do it again!!  After you left, I spent about an hour just looking at all the fun stamped images and embellishments and organizing them into little bags.  Last night I couldn't sleep ... I had cards whirling around in my head :)  FYI, the cookies you brought are all gone - totally delicious!

Edited to Add:  Just saw that the challenge this week at Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge is #164 - Christmas Love, so I'm entering this card.

Oh this is so cute! I like Dolly -- there's Dolly & Lolly. What a winning combination! You're spot on...she's really very special. Not to mention talented & funny too. (Just ain't fair, is it? But she shares well too! LOL). You did a super job with your gift stamp, and of course he's a Dalmation! This card just made me smile all over, and you did a super job with your coloring & embellies. So glad you had a fun stamping afternoon, sharing supplies. What better way to spend a Sat afternoon? I can't thin of one. (well, maybe cuddling your new baby...Otherwise, stamping, hands down!) Your time with Susan sounds like crafting heaven, Lolly! Cookies and all!!

Thank you for the sweet shoutout! You are welcome for the stamp which you have proven again went into the right hands!! I LOL about your Dalmation looking like a Holstein, but no worries there! I agree with you about loving it this way, especially with the glittery antler headband! It really is a karack up image!! Hugs, Darnell

Oh how fun it must be to stamp with a local friend. It's like having twice as much "stuff" without spending twice as much money! LOL!! None of my friends are into stamping or cardmking so I'm on my own. :(

Your dogs and kitty are colored beautifully!! Love that kitty. Well, I'm off to do some online craft shopping! :) :)

A fabulous version of the one you showed me - the bigger dog works perfectly as a dalmatian!! I agree, I can't wait to come over and share stuff with you again! It was so much fun.

I love this group of friends and every time I see it on a card I think I'll add it to my list. Alas, that list is way too long. I LOVE that dalmatian!

Oh my goosh I can't take this! TOO cute! I think I've got to get this stamp. I think your coloring looks great Loll, you don't need a tutorial. :) Youtube is anyways filled with amazing videos, I can send you some of my favorite links -I unfortunately don't have a video camera. Thank you for thinking I would be good enough for making a video tutorial, it made my day! The most important thing in my opinion is the card and to use markers that match well... And to alternate the coloring style from flicking to making circular motions depending on the image. xx

I love how you colored these adorable images, and your CAS design is perfect, Loll!

How fun that you got together with your friend and traded supplies...such a great idea! Darnell is one of my favorite bloggers, and I think it was so sweet of her to send this stamp to you...sounds like you've made a lot of great friendships through this wonderful craft of ours!
