CAS Mix Up October Challenge & New CAS Watercolour Challenge

Hi everyone.  It's the start of the CAS Mix Up October Challenge.  This month we are looking for "ghosting" on your cards.  And no, not the type of ghosts that show up for Halloween later this month :) ...  but a ghost of an image.

Ghosting is fun and easy to do.  Check out my video tutorial on Ghosting.

The stencil I used above is VERY open, so I wanted to create a ghost of the outline of the leaves. I sponged my card front randomly with turquoise and green inks. Then I sprayed the back of the stencil with water first, layed it on the card front, pressed down and removed.  Let the water sit for about 10 seconds to work it's way into the sponged colours, and then blotted with a paper towel.  Voila!!  This combines Stencil Monoprint with Ghosting. :)

This month we are excited to have Mac Mable (The Sweetest of Peas) are our Guest Designer.  Mac won the CAS Mix Up August Challenge - Sprays with this GORGEOUS CARD.  Welcome Mac!

Please check out our challenge blog to see Mac's Ghosting card, along with the rest of the Design Team cards.

I hope you'll give Ghosting a try and come join us at the CAS Mix Up challenge with your CAS (Clean and Simple) mixed media cards.  We'd love to see you in the gallery.

As always, the challenge is open until the 24th of the month.

Two gorgeous inspiration cards, Loll! I love the ghosting technique with your stencil and your color palette is so pretty! Beautiful watercoloring on the leaf, too! I'm looking forward to playing along in both challenges :)

Both cards are so beautiful, Loll! I admire your watercoloring since I'm still struggling with that. Love the ghosting on your gorgeous green card. I also love the simplicity of the watercolored leaf. Mac's card was truly amazing in design and color!

Awesome! Both of these beauties. (Will be back to check out the video). I've tried the ghosting, but not been very successful at it so far. Love the background you've achieved on #1 with the fab overlay of dimensional branches. But what really grabbed my heart was that gorgeous leaf in the rich shades of fall color! Just splendid. TFS & good luck with the new challenge. Hope I can do something that is worthy of entering! Hugs

Your ghosted background is gorgeous, Loll! I love how the white leaves really bring out the beautiful colors in the background with the subtle ghosted look! And your watercolored leaf is so pretty! I'm so excited to be joining up with you for another challenge of a favorite technique!

Both cards are spectacular, Loll! The green ghosted background looks so fresh with the white die cut and the leaf with the matching splattered background is out of this world! Absolutely love them both!

Fabulous ghosting with a stencil! Amazing how the water works its magic! I need to do more of this. I love the colours and the look of the simple white leaves on top of them.

Oh, Loll!
Such a beautiful card! I love the delicate web of background, if we moved to a summer morning, when on the cobwebs are strung pearls of dew glistening in the morning sun. That's how I see your first card. A second card I simply disintegrated into a fine powder! Colors, shapes, used paint ... everything that made this card is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen in my life! I never thought that the pink color can dazzle me so ...

The ink blending is fantastic and really makes the ghosting work to perfection, Loll.
