CAS Mix Up January Challenge

Hi everyone.  Happy New Year!  Starting off with the CAS Mix Up challenge for January ... and it's a fun one! :)  Hosted by Bonnie ... this is such a cool challenge.

Use any product that starts as a liquid ... could be alcohol inks, stains, re-inkers, liquid paints, etc.  The choice is yours. :)

I started with a Floating Alcohol Ink panel that I made last year.  This technique is a little messy, so I made several up at one time.  Click HERE for a link to a video tutorial on this fun and easy way to use alcohol inks.  I believe I used mixed media card stock, but you can use glossy, regular card stock and haven't tried it, but yupo should work well too. :)

I die-cut this modern hexagon background from my card front and the alcohol ink panel.  I inlaid the white pieces back into the design, and then glued most of the matching alcohol ink pieces on top, popping up the rest for a bit of dimension. Wanted to keep the design very CAS, so added a simple stamped sentiment to finish.

My CAS Mix Up card has alcohol inks, floating alcohol ink technique, die-cutting, inlaid die-cutting and stamping. :)

We are so happy to have Trina (My Crafting Closet) as our Guest Designer this month.  Welcome Trina!!

We hope you'll join in this fun challenge, which is open until January 24th.  See you in the gallery! :)

Thanks for visiting!

Fantastic card, Loll! Perfectly CAS with a definite splash of bright, bold colors. Those hexies are layered and popped up in a wonderful pattern; love how they lead you right to your sentiment. Very cool card. Might have to play along this time, too -- Darnell showed us a technique at the Lake House, and I've been saving my favorite piece for something special! And a very Happy New Year to you and yours. Bev

Loving these deep blues on your recent cards. Interesting to see the difference in the blues that you've created with the alcohol inks (as I was just enjoying your blue brusho background!). Also like the hexagon placement design, and cool that you did the 'cut-out' portion to add so much interest. Very modernistic look on this one. I'm with Pat, simply gorgeous!! TFS & Hugs
