Magical Cork

Hi everyone.  No, this cork isn't magical as the title of my post implies. :)  But the cork does look good with the die-cut which has been coloured with Lindy's Magicals (Cattail Copper Brown).  I love that these little pots of powder are filled with goodness.  They are similar to Brushos in that each colour is actually made up of several different colours.  The great thing about Magicals ... they shimmer.  I have added a close-up photo below and hopefully you can see a bit of shimmer.

This is for the CAS Mix Up February Challenge - Felt, Cork, or Canvas.  I have already posted felt and canvas cards and couldn't miss out on the cork. :)

This cork is a gift from a sweet friend, and I had fun die-cutting it with my new-to-me leaf die that I HAD to have after seeing my Teamie Joanna use it.  Isn't is awesome.  This card is for my hubby's birthday in April.  He will love it!

Sprinkled magicals onto an acetate sheet, spritzed with a little water and smooshed the colour onto a regular piece of card stock.  Die-cut the leaf in frame and glued it on top of a cork background.  Added a stamped and heat embossed (in copper) sentiment.

Here's a close up ...

Since I had the negative pieces from the die-cut leaf sitting on my desk, I decided to make another card, this time inlaying the pieces into a white die-cut leaf frame.  Always great when you can use up those pretty bits and pieces.

... and here's the close-up ...

There's still a few days left before the CAS Mix Up Challenge closes at midnight (PST) Feb. 24th.  Hope you'll join us!

Oh wow, you've brought this die cut up a notch, Loll. No wasting any part of that beeeeautiful piece of Magical powder smooshing. Both cards are very elegant, the touch of copper is truly the best compliment for that Autumn Magical colour. Happy Birthday "Hubby" xx

Another stunning card Loll. I got to play with Magicals while I was away and love them. Now have 2 sets ordered. They truly are amazing. Fabulous die here especially with the tiny frame which helps showcases the leaf perfectly. The negative one is equally lovely. A great Twofer!

So glad I got to see these in real life as they sparkle more than the photos show. Both are fabulous - so glad you used both positive and negative pieces from that great die. Gord will love his birthday card - the cork works so well for a masculine card.

Spectacular, Lolly! They look like hammered copper pieces and are so striking against all that white and the organic look of the cork! Love them and good job making two!! Hugs, Dolly

Beautiful focals on both cards.... Although I haven't tried their new Magical Shakers yet, I LOVE Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals! I have about 50 of them (some retired colors). Oh that fabulous shimmer! I love their Glitz Spritz's and Starburst sprays, too... my favorite "shimmer" products for sure. All great products.

That leaf die looks like you, Loll. I can see why they call those powders magical. The shimmer in them is fantastic and looks great as both a background and a focal image. Super cards.

Oh, how beautiful it is! The first card with its natural convexity due to the use of a cork is so beautiful! But when I saw that the second card I forgot to close his mouth with the impression ... But she is beautiful !!! This amazing pattern on a white background! And although I do not like bronzes, this card just stunned me! Unusual, unique and exceptionally beautiful!

I do so love the little pots of magicals too. You can do so much with them. Absolutely love the tone of the cork with the magical you have used. Copper is such a warm and beautiful colour to use. Stunning card...your husband is going to love it x

The colors of this beautiful leaf look super stunning against the cork background. Must check out that die! Also loving what you did with the negative pieces as well. I love my Lindy's...both the magicals (which you can make into sprays!) but the flat Fabio and the starburst sprays as well. You've worked some awesome magic with this one. Gorgeous masculine birthday card. TFS
