Mums

Hi everyone.  I'm sharing two cards that I made a while ago, but haven't had a chance to blog until now.

I LOVE this beautiful mum bouquet stamp from WPlus9 that I received as a gift from a sweet friend.  I stamped and embossed it with liquid platinum embossing powder.  Then I watercoloured using my Zigs.

Here's a close up ...

I really enjoy watercolouring of any kind, but find the zigs to be so easy.  This time I used hot press watercolour paper and it worked like a charm with these inks.

I made a second card, but had a senior's moment when adding a stencil to the background.  For some reason I used purple and it was way too dark and took away from the image.  Didn't want to loose the pretty flowers, so fussy-cut the image and popped it up on a card base which had been die-cut with a circle edging (one of a set of four dies from AliExpress).  A heat embossed sentiment finished the card.

Stamps:  Beautiful Bouquet Mums (WPlus9); Lots of Thanks (Simon Says Stamp)
Paper:  Arches (140 lb. hot press - top card); Mixed media (Strathmore 140 lb. - second card); Elegant Eggplant (SU!)
Ink:  Versamark; zigs
Accessories & Tools:  Liquid platinum embossing powder (card 1), silver embossing powder (card 2), heat tool, water brush, Mini Tiny Circles stencil (The Crafter's Workshop); Circle-edged die (AliExpress)

Lovely, as always!!

I purchase a lot of dies on Ali Express and look at dies there all the time, but I don't remember seeing this one. Could you possibly give a link to this die? I went to the Ali Express site and tried doing a search for "circle-edged die" as you had called it, but noting like it came up. I know searching for specific dies on that site can be frustrating and what I find is mostly a matter of hit or miss, but I'd love to find the one you just used! :) I'd also love to know the measurements of it. Thank you in advance for any help you can give towards finding the die. (lonestar413@msn.com)

Both of these are absolutely GORGEOUS Loll!! Love the stenciled background on the 1st card, but I really love the 2nd card that you ended up saving by fussy cutting and then adhering to the white on white card base...soooo pretty! And beautiful coloring with the zigs too! Lovely, lovely cards my friend!! :0)

It is not only your beautiful watercoloring that makes me want to see your cards but also the finishing touches you add to them. Your willingness to fussy cut boggles my mind but appears that you designed this way deliberately. Both are just beautiful. Love the tiny stenciled dots on the first card too.

Those mums are just beautiful, Loll. They really make a wonderful statement on your card front. You've made me wish I had time tomorrow to do a little watercoloring, but not sure if there will be...soon though! Your first card is beautiful with its stenciled background, and that platinum ep is fabulous. Love your second card, too. What a great save!! Love that circle die! Two sweet cards!! Bev

Gorgeous Zigs watercoloured heat embossed flowers for both your wonderful CAS designs, Loll. I do love my Zigs too for watercolouring. They are so easy to use and blend beautifully with water. I love your die cut corner on your 2nd card and your mini circle stenciling on your 1st card. TFS my friend. Hugs...

Wow! I love how the backgrounds beautifully complement those gorgeous flowers. Your water coloring is just perfect. Great fussy cutting, too! That's something I can hardly do any more.

I don't have hot press paper but I'm glad to hear the Zigs work on them, Loll. And work well apparently because you coloring is amazing. I'm sorry you had to fussy cut the second bouquet but I love it with the die cut - something unexpected and totally perfect.

Love both of these, such a gorgeous floral(Think I might have this stamp, but never thought to use the platinum embossing. Which really enhances your wonderful watercoloring!) I love the stenciling that drapes the flowers, and what a splendid save on #2. Both are so beautiful! TFS & Hugs.

Beautiful cards Loll - I love the platinum embossing, it is 'quieter' than gold and lets the beauty of the coloured image show up beautifully. The die cut background on the second card is great.

Such beautiful cards, Lol. I love how you painted the picture. The first card is brilliant with a delicate stenciled background. In the second card you used the beautiful element with flowers so well when something else went wrong. You're a great creator, Loll.

Beautiful flowers, Loll! Love the colors you chose and the soft stenciled background that lets the flowers star but adds depth. And the second card is a fabulous save! It's so pretty on the white die cut! Again the flowers are the star!

Sorry I'm so slow to reply. Thanks so much for replying to my comment. I thought I'd reply here rather than by e-mail. Thanks for giving a link to the dies!! For some reason when I read your blog post yesterday I was thinking that die was a rectangle shape background die. Now that I have followed your link, I'll check to make sure I have not already purchased that die set. I think I need to find a good way to organize all of my Ali Express dies so I won't forget what I already own. It's difficult to remember all of them since they don't come in packages with pictures! :) I need to take the time to cut each one and stick it on the front of each storage sleeve. Right now, all I have is a document on my computer with a list of them. Oh, to be so organized! :)

Your Zig watercolouring and shading is stunning, Loll! Both cards are so beautiful and elegant (as always)! The stenciling and the die-cut in the backgrounds add interest without taking away focus on the flowers. Hideko xx
