Watercolour Sprays

Hi everyone.  Sharing two cards that are the same except for the die-cut and sentiment.  After a card class I had a few weeks ago, there was a left over piece of watercolour sprays on mixed media paper.  This is a combination of several colours ... I believe red, brown, magenta and a little gold on top.  I love the dramatic look of these colours together.

Two easy cards where I just cut my already sprayed piece of mixed media paper in half to create a panel for each card.  Backed it with a piece of black card stock that was only about 1/8" bigger, creating a very thin frame.  Added a black die-cut (this is a longer die-cut, but I just ripped off the bottom few leaves), and stamped a simple sentiment.

Here's a close-up of both cards ...

and ...

Thanks for coming by for a visit!

Stamps:  Thanks Sentiment - Where Your Heart is (Simon Says Stamp); Happy Birthday Sentiment - Penguin Party (Create a Smile)
Paper:  Mixed Media paper (Strathmore 140 lb. 400 series); Black (Stampin' Up!); White (Neenah 110 lb.)
Ink:  Black (Memento)
Accessories & Tools:  Sprays made from Liquid Watercolour concentrate (Dick Blick), Flower Frolic die (Penny Black); Meadow Leaf die (Poppy Stamps)

I envy your inventiveness to use up bits of waste Loll. These are perfect cards (as always!) x

Very nice, Loll. Love that feeling when you are able to make some simple, but pretty, cards from leftovers. (Of course, this also means that I keep way more leftovers than I am ever likely to use.)

Beautifully dramatic pieces that show beautifully with the narrow black frame and black die cuts!

Oh, Loll! Awesome! I love the intense colors of the background in contrast with the white base. Adding a black frame further highlights the contrast. Both cards are stunning, Loll !!

I always love the way you use the magnificent backgrounds you create. I'm learning to use mine in the same way. You also have the ability to stretch it into multiple cards. Love that! Thanks for the inspiration and love these warm colors.

These are both just lovely Loll!! I've never tried spraying water colour before, but admit I am intrigued and need to try it out!! I've been so stuck on the Magicals and Finetec Pearls lately, that I haven't worked on much else...maybe I need to try them in a spray bottle!! But anyway, love how both your cards turned out, and what a good feeling to know you made something so pretty from something that was just "leftovers"!! :0)

Two gorgeous cards, Loll. The black die cuts look dramatic against the richly coloured background and I like the thin black frames too.

Dramatic yet CAS cards...so good looking. Like the colors you combined for the background....you have an extra special skill for that for sure! And the black frame sets off the black die cuts so nicely.

I love the dramatic look of these colors, too...they make your silhouettes pop on your designs, and would work well for a male or female recipient! Gorgeous cards, Loll!

You made fabulous cards using "leftover" pieces, Loll! I love the depth and richness of the watercolour sprayed background. The black die-cut and matte are perfect for bringing out the dramatic background panel. Hideko xx
