Penny Black - Framed Irises

Hi everyone.  I love these beautiful irises from Penny Black.  I stamped in Versamark and heat embossed in Liquid Platinum embossing powder onto Hot Press Watercolour paper.  I used a water brush and distress inks to watercolour and then fussy-cut the image.  It was a little delicate with some of the thin stems, but I got it worked out. :)

I die-cut a rectangle frame, popping it up over top of my card base and tucking the bottom of the iris stems in-behind.  I added a few pop dots and glue dots to secure the flower heads in place.  A sentiment was stamped several times (using the Misti) to get a clear image.  The inside sentiment says:  Have fun and smile today!

Here's a close-up ...

So gorgeous, Loll! Even more stunning IRL. Those narrow areas would be a challenge to fussy cut, but you did a magnificent job! Love the frame design with the iris flowing over! xx

Your painting is just beautiful but my jaw dropped to see that it was all fussy cut! What patience you have to do this. Love how you mounted that gorgeous image though. This is outstanding, Loll.

The platinum embossing is very subtle on this lovely iris image. Of course your w/coloring is fab, as always. The colors are soft & what a great shading effect on the blossoms. Bet the tiny stems were a bit fiddly to cut well, but I like the arrangement of letting some of the stems & blossoms fall outside the pretty dimensional frame. Hugs
