Framed Deers on Vellum

Hi everyone.  Time for one more card for the CAS Christmas challenge - Deer.

We are also celebrating our first birthday at CAS Christmas with some prizes for the winning entry and also a random draw prize.

I smooshed brushos onto vellum for my background.  Once dry, I glued the vellum onto a piece of white card stock to keep it flat.  I ran it through my embosser with a Snowflake embossing folder ... upside-down, so I have a debossed design.  I love the satiny look the vellum gives to the background.

Mounted this sweet framed deer scene die from Poppy Stamps over my background and popped the panel on my card base.  The sentiment is stamped in Salty Ocean distress ink.

Here's a close-up ...

Since I watercoloured on vellum, I'm adding the above card to the CAS Watercolour challenge.

Both CAS Christmas and CAS Watercolour challenges will be open for a few more days.  Come join us!

Oh WOW! How I love that icy background with the debossed snowflakes. What a fabulous effect, Loll! The playful deer are the perfect die cut for this. I can't help but keep looking back at the Brusho on vellum and now will have to try that!

That Brushos background is breathtaking, Loll. And I can see the shimmer from the vellum, which really gives this a lovely, wintery look. The deer scene is so sweet, and a perfect compliment to that background. Such a lovely card. Have a good evening. Bev

I read the title and had to see how this card was made. Definitely a new technique giving a sensational BG. That debossed sky has so much shine and sheen. Love that the dear die is minimal, a beautiful design. A blue sentiment adds to the beauty. xxx

Your snowy scene is so pretty colored on vellum, the added textural touch of the dry embossing takes it to another level. Lovely.

This is so sweet, Loll! Vellum + Brusho + Embossing = Totally Inspiring! I'd love to try this technique. The little deer playing each other are so cute. The depth of the debossing makes the snowflakes stand out even with the vibrant Brusho colors. Fantastic effect!
