More Vellum Watercolouring

Hi everyone.  Another card to share with watercolouring on vellum.  I've had fun playing with this month's CAS Watercolour Challenge!

I was recently away for a few days, relaxing in a cabin on Galiano Island, overlooking Active Pass.  I have mentioned many times before on my blog, it's a favourite place for hubby and I to get away.  While I was there, I had some time to watercolour lots of images with my zigs.  The flower used today was one of those.

I previously made a smooshed background with yellow, green and blue inks ... can't remember what I used, but most likely Distress inks (my fav!).  I wanted to add something different to the look of the vellum, so I dry embossed with a delicate leafy design and used a flat sponge and silver Inka Gold to just catch the tops of the embossing to add highlights to my background.  I framed a small piece with a square stitched die and then added the fussy-cut flower that I mentioned above.  The card front is popped up from the background with a silver stamped sentiment.  I popped up the flower as well to add lots of dimension.  Added the flower to the corner of the square.

Here's a close-up ...

Stamps:  Persian Motifs (Altenew); Senitment (SU!)
Paper:  Vellum; White card stock (Neenah 110 lb.)
Ink:  Zigs; Silver Delicata (Tsukineko); Distress inks
Accessories & Tools:  water brush, Spring Leaves embossing folder (Elizabeth Craft Designs); Silver Inka Gold (Viva Decor), flat sponge, white embossing powder, heat tool

So much to savor with this, Lolly! I'm glad you had a wonderful time at our (we wish) cabin and I can just see you there, coloring. Aaah! Anyway, back to earth, I love how you did that background; that's worth a post all on its own! Your vellum flower is stunning! It looks like it's backed with the white? What did you use to attach the vellum to the white backing so it's not visible? The peek-a-boo frame and silver sediment are perfect! Hugs, Dolly

I've always loved your watercoloring. This time your background just captivated me. I'd have guessed those were die cuts you added to it and just love the effect of the embossing. This is so imaginative and beautiful!

I thought at first the inked top of the vellum looked like water droplets. lol It certainly is the most perfect embossing with this beautiful bloom! Glad you and hubby got to get away to your favorite place....the cabin on Galiano Island! It's always nice to get away and recharge those batteries on a low key get away. Hugs, Brenda

It must seem ages now from your fabulous trip away with DH? I remembering reading this post, being wowed by it but can't understand how I didn't comment! Amazing card, full of pretty colours and techniques. The little background square is unique, so pretty and love the dimension on it. What a pretty flower too. Great design layout and a real stunner of a card x
