CAS Christmas May Challenge

Hi everyone.  Today we are starting a new CAS Christmas challenge - Stocking.  This month is hosted by our talented Designer, Trina (Phamtastic Design).

This owl family from Wild Rose is such an adorable image.  I had fun watercolouring in icy colours.  My plan was to have snow gently falling over the scene.  Somehow I got carried away and it's a snow storm. :)

The image was stamped in black ink and heat embossed in clear.  Zigs were used to watercolour the image ... they do have such bright, clean colours.  To finish, little details were added (pink cheeks, sparkle on the fur cuffs and pompoms, and gloss for the owl's noses and heart on the small stocking).  It was then cut to size with a wonky stitched frame and snow was added by heating Frantage Chunky White enamel with my skillet.  A cute sentiment was stamped at the bottom.  Afterwards I thought ... "do owls tweet??!!"  Probably not, oh well.  Hopefully no one notices. :)

Here's a close-up ...
We have Helen (Helen's Craft Haven) joining us at Guest Designer this month.  Welcome Helen!  Check out the challenge blog to see the stocking cards from Helen and our amazing designers!  Then come play along!

What an adorable image and your coloring is perfectly done! I don't think you can overdo Frantage for winter- at least by Ohio standards so it's just fine. Thanks for the reminder to pull my Zigs out again and get the dust off of them. Your shading is fantastic, Loll!

What a cute scene with the owl family. I love the sweet baby. It's a good thing they are bundled up with hats and scarves since they are in a blizzard! I love their cold, pink cheeks. I'm not political but I say if Trump can tweet, owls can tweet!

Ohhhhh, love, love, LOVE this image and your snowy Christmas coloring! Funny about the tweeting owls! I saw birds and "tweetings" and it didn't even register that they were owls. It's clear as a bell now. I like the idea of owls tweeting. Maybe the babies tweet. Anyway... your card is just as cute as can be!

There's nothing cuter than a family of owls, Loll, unless one is peeking from a stocking and the rest have winter hats on.
