CAS Mix Up August Challenge

Hi everyone.  Welome to the start of the CAS Mix Up August Challenge.  This month is hosted by me and I'm looking for you to use paper towel on your card ...

I started by using one of my paper towel transfer backgrounds I had in my stash.  My video on this easy technique is HERE.  The background I choose was done in pinks and oranges ... and with Lindy's Magicals (lots of shimmer).

I stamped my image in gray Archival ink and then watercoloured the thistles and leaves with Magicals as well so the whole card has shimmer.

The image was cut into a circle and popped up with foam onto the card front.  A black banner with white heat embossed sentiment finishes the card.

Here's a close-up ...
The close-up shows the texture of the quilted design from the paper towel. :)

Please check out the challenge blog to see the amazing Paper Towel cards from our Designers and our wonderful Guest Designer, Betty (created by bjk).

Then come join us.  It's a great way to make use of those inky paper towels rather than throwing them away.

Oh how beautiful are those thistles against your pretty paper towel transfer background. Great design. I actually remembered to save some of my mopped up towels. Hopefully they have enough ink.

I love these thistles and this technique. I have two towels saved for this but not sure they have enough color on them. We'll see. Jessie looks so comfortable in her bed. Molly has a memory foam bed too and my kids just crack up over that! Could they be spoiled? Look at how much she's grown since the first picture.

Lovely card Lolly my friend - the thistles are fab. Have my paper towel lined up on the desk ready to use - hopefully sometime today - if I can persuade Mr Mojo to put in an appearance! x

What a pretty Thistle card, Loll! The Lindy’s Magical shimmer must be more gorgeous in real life. The subtle color and texture of the paper towel background highlights the beauty of the bright flowers and leaves. That softly coloured paper towel background looks so pretty with the coordinating tones of the thistle flower Loll, and I love that the pattern of the paper towel shows up, and the white on black sentiment is a great contrast. x
