CAS Christmas March Challenge

Hi everyone.  We're on to March already!!  Time for a new challenge --- CAS Christmas March Challenge - Winter Flower.  This month's challenge is being hosted by our lovely Colleen (One Smile Lifts a Spirit).

We are so happy to have Linda (Scrappin', Stampin', & Singin') joining us as our Guest Designer this month.  YAY Linda!!

I've had this Penny Black stamp for a long time and I've only used it twice.  It's so pretty and delicate, and I thought the blooms would look lovely in red.  I inked the stamp with markers, spritzed with a little water and then stamped onto mixed media paper.  I love this technique!  It gives an instant watercolour look.  Sometimes I have to stamp a second time (maybe with more ink, maybe with more water, or maybe with neither or both).  Just depends on how the first pressing looks.

Close-up ...
I hope you'll come join us and keep up your stash of making Christmas cards throughout the year.

Stamps:  Full Bloom (Penny Black); Christmas Sentiments (Penny Black)
Paper:  Mixed Media Paper (Strathmore 140 lb.)
Ink:  Real Red, Pear Pizzazz (SU!); Black (Memento)
Accessories & Tools:  Water spritzer, water brush

Love the simplicity of this Loll - a gorgeous stamp and the loose watercolouring look fits it to perfection. (Glad you're back!) x

That technique is beautiful and what an easy way to "watercolor" for those of us who are not quite so gifted in that area!! *wink! I love your beautiful red flowers! Heart Hugs, col

Gorgeous Christmas card - I think you might want to make it one of an entire set of 12!

Beautiful vibrant red flowers! Love the softer shade of green you paired them with so that the flowers really stand out.

Beautiful and I just spied my next stamp purchase! I've seen this one before and this is a technique I too just love. I love the simplicity of the artwork. Never thought of this as a Christmas card but it works perfectly! And YAY that blogger is back up!

This is a very pretty PB flower and the marker straight to stamp technique has given a stunning result Loll. You have it just right adding enough colour and water to keep the image clear which I think here is just perfect, and love that sentiment too. x

This is so pretty and delicate, Loll! The way you stamped (ink & spritz with water) makes the image look even more delicate. Love the CASness with the perfect placement of the sentiment.
