Perfect Poppies

Hi everyone.  There's a great sale on at Power Poppy.  My friend, Leslie, is a Designer for Power Poppy so I checked it out and bought a few clear stamps.  Then I saw my friend Bonnie, colouring up some beautiful digi stamps from PP.  I haven't worked with digi stamps for a long time, but once I took a look at what there was, I had to buy some.

I'm going to enter this over at Power Poppy blog in the Creative Confetti challenge - A walk in the Garden.
My favourite flower is stargazer lilies ... but my favourite flower to watercolour is poppies. :)  I just love the beautiful flow of this gorgeous image.

Close-up ...
After printing the image on a piece of mixed media paper, I watercoloured with distress inks.  I decided to add some yellow to the background (and that's why I choose this sentiment).  The yellow was sponged lightly, although the colours turned out quite bright. :)  Then more interest was added with more of the same yellow ink through a tiny dot stencil.  The senitment banner finishes the card.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit!

Beautiful Loll, the colours are wonderful. I love the yellow background ready for the summer sun.
I see everyone using digi images and feel a little behind. When we get our crafting sessions sorted in the future I need a tutorial:)

Wonderful watercolouring on the poppy! I love to watercolour them too (and grow them in my garden). Great idea to have the yellow background with that sentiment. And the bit of dotted stencilling adds lots of interest.

Gorgeous Loll. I love a poppy too, the wild ones that seed around are just coming into bud so it wont be long 'til the banks are full of red gorgeousness! :)

A beautifully coloured poppy Loll and love your more purplish red which gives it a whole different look and the pretty yellow background with the added stencil dots goes perfectly, a lovely sentiment too. x

Gorgeous poppies, Loll! You watercolored them so beautifully and I love how you shaded them. I totally understand what you mean by "the beautiful flow of this gorgeous image". The bright and sunny background with tiny circle interest makes a card receiver happy.

WOW on your painting! Love the shading on this as well as the somewhat muted red color. I’m intrigued though that you printed this and were able to water color without the ink running all over the place. That has not happened here. That’s amazing!

Helloooo sunshine! The bold, bright background is fantastic!... your beautifully coloured poppies look wonderful against it. I have not worked with digis, but I’m seeing more and more of them every day. May have to look into that.

Ah, well, you know how I love my Power Poppy digis, and this one is especially lovely. How I adore it in purple with the yellow background. I like stenciling a background, but it's especially pretty over the watercolor. Really gorgeous, Loll!

Your warm background is wonderfully emphasized by the cold shade of red / purple of this amazing poppy. Such a beautiful card, Loll. I also love the banner with sentiment, the white banner does not pop into the foreground and does not receive attention from this stunning flower
Hugs,
BożenA

Well, this is a big dose of eye candy! I love the sentiment you chose given that beautiful splash of yellow. The dotted stencil is a perfect addition to that gorgeously colored poppy!!
