Old Letter Rose

Hi everyone.  Today I've used a beautiful stamp I received for my birthday from a very sweet stamping friend.

Isn't it gorgeous??!!  It definitely has a vintage look, so I used colours that reflected that.  Stamped in Rich Cocoa Archival ink and watercoloured using distress inks.  I sponged the background lightly with gathered twigs ink and then used a water brush to move the ink around.  To finish, I added two coats of clear Wink of Stella to the rose.  It really shines in real life, but hard to capture in a photo.

Close-up ...
I made this for The Flower Challenge #47 - Add Sparkle, where my dear friend Darnell is Guest Designing this month.

This is a new-to-me stamp and my first stamp from Joy Crafts.  I'm sending this over to the NBUS #17 (never-before-used-schtuff) challenge.

First off, your little dog is so sweet! What a cooling difference that cut will give her in this heat!

Your card is beautiful. I carefully read the directions as I like the look of the image appearing as if it is stamped direct to card rather than to a card front. With this mixed media paper you mention, do you make the whole card from this paper and then paint it, or do you carefully make the card front from it and then glue to the base?
Sorry for all the questions, but I really like the look of this...

Do you ever make a card I'm not totally in love with? I think not. This is gorgeous! Love the colors and the warmth. Speaking of warmth, I'll bet Jessie is much cooler since her hair cut. When I'm brushing LuLu I always tell her she'll feel better when I get all the extra hair out of her. She has such a thick coat and a whole small dog's worth of soft fur comes out every time.

You know you really should get your hair done when all the dogs you see have better hairstyles than you!! Just love your card Loll and never thought to stamp flowers in a dark brown ink, gives it such a vintage look. The deep burgundy is stunning and love the brushed over background stamp. Always fabulous to see your designs at The Flower Challenge!!

This is one of your greatest Loll cards. I love how you match the colors perfectly, which actually adds to the vintage effect. I am very impressed with this card.
Does Jessie like visiting the groommer? Because with her long hair, she looked so sweet.
