Zooming with Friends - September

Hi everyone.  A couple of weeks ago, we had our regular monthly group crafting session with Zoom.  This time we decided that we needed to pull out a long-neglected product to play with ... we chose Perfect Pearls.  Sharing four of my Perfect Pearl cards today that I made as samples for our crafting session.  And the rest of the group is sharing too - see below for links to their Perfect Pearl cards (Bonnie, Brenda, Christine, Darnell, Susan).

I only have four Perfect Pearls colours - all metallics (Pearl, Gold, Copper, Bronze) that I received as a gift ages ago from my dear friend, Mary.

Have to say it was fun to research and play with these lovely little pots of shimmer.  During our session, we covered several Perfect Pearl techniques. We had a LOT of fun.

For the card above, I used Picked Raspberry Distress ink mixed with Pearl-coloured Perfect Pearls and water to watercolour this lovely image from Penny Black.  The image is heat embossed in Liquid Platinum and then watercoloured  That's it.  The colours shimmer from the added Pearl powder, which you can see a bit better in the close-up photo below.

For our second technique, we smooshed a mixture of distress inks and Perfect Pearls.
I used Mustard Seed and Carved Pumpkin Distress Inks, along with Pearl-coloured Perfect Pearls to create this shimmery, pearl background.  I then stamped my image in Versamark, dusted with Copper Perfect Pearls, and misted lightly with water to set the powder.

Close-up ... you can see the shimmer better from this angle.
Here's another card using the other half of my smooshed background.
This time Bronze Perfect Pearls were used to dust over the Vintage Photo Ink-stamped image.

Close-up shows shimmer must better ...
The last technique I'm sharing from our zoom meeting is watercolouring die-cuts with Perfect Pearls.
I used two colours of Perfect Pearls on the leaf sprig, Gold and Bronze.  I mixed the powders with water and painted two coats onto my leaves and stems, which creates an opaque look.  The sentiment is stamped in Versamark, dusted with gold Perfect Pearls, and set with a light mist of water.

Close-up ...

The group of us are all posting our cards today.  Would love for you to check out the links to the others blogs and leave them a comment as well.

Thanks for coming by for a visit!

You're a hard act to follow, Lolly, but you make us want to do just that with your expert teaching! Thank you! The session was so much fun, I learned a lot about my poor forgotten PP, and I loved playing with the little pots of shimmer. Every one of your sample examples is stunning! Hugs, Dolly

Well Loll what fantastic cards and you made the most of the pearls you have. I simple adore them all and must give this a go. I have a couple of mica powders, not proper perfect pearls, but also Pixie Powders mixed with water will give a great sparkle too, and I will definitely be giving these techniques a try. I have done some of these in the past but not for absolutely ages. Your zoom meetings are fun and obviously very worth while. x

What gorgeous cards, Loll! I’d forgotten all about perfect pearls! Mine have sat here for years. I love the look of all of these but your leaf sprig just jumped off the page at me. Love the shimmer on all of them. Your painting as usual is gorgeous and the backgrounds on the mustard ones are fabulous. Thanks for the inspiration.

What unique and stunning effects with the pearls. I learnt so much from reading your post Loll x. It's amazing what can be achieved from such a small pot of shimmery powder. Stunning cards Loll with tons of inspiration, thank you x.
You sure looked like you had fun too x.

You girls are really making me wish I still had my Perfect Pearls. I have other shimmer things, but not quite the same type. Seriously, can't have everything! I love the fall colors you chose to work with for your backgrounds and solid stamps, but also how you used them with pretty raspberry for watercolor on your flowers. All your stamps are just beautiful, too.

Gorgeous cards, Loll! I really love how you played with Perfect Pearls in different ways, especially how you painted with 2 metallic colors on your last card! Thanks for reminding me to get my Perfect Pearls out for a play ~ xx

Wow, wow, wow! I love how you used the pearl powders to make these amazingly beautiful cards Loll! You ladies do come up with some great Zoom get togethers for sure. I really love them all, they are so unique. I had a little play with the powders with a friend of mine, but we didn't know much about using them so just made a shimmery spray with two of them. We will have to try out some of the techniques you ladies tried. Hugs, Brenda

Awesome cards Loll love the different techniques you used with the Perfect Pearls. I have painted with Perfect Pearls but not done any of the other easy techniques. Must give the other techniques a go. I am in love with the leaf stem die cut on the last card Loll, can you let me know who it was made by please.

OMG you're a very productive gal. These cards are amazing. My favourite is the HELLO with that PP branch of leaves. The dimension and shininess is the perfect dosage of enough. An exquisite CAS card. xx

Oh, four amazing cards, Loll. I love the fall card release. the colors and flickering perfectly reflect golden autumn. But the last page touched me the most. I remember your previous card with this die. You can create something so fabulously beautiful from an ordinary object. Thank you for this amazing inspiration, Loll!

Wow Loll !! Now I can see the glow of the PP for myself on the card that just got to me. Despite the fact that you are taking some beautiful pictures, the picture does not show all the beauty of this card, eggs of intense, deep colors and the wonderful metallic sheen of a copper PP. Thank you very much for such an amazing card.
with love,
