CAS Challenges November Reminder

Hi everyone.  We are half way through November, which means it's time for the CAS Challenges reminder cards.  Two very fun challenges this month.

First up, CAS Mix Up - Off the Edge (Watercolouring), hosted by Bonnie.  Watercolouring is the technique this month and Bonnie wants to see images Off the Edge.  It's a great way to have a different look with your stamps, stencils or dies.  Make sure that your main image is watercoloured and design is CAS (clean and simple).
Bonnie is our host.
I'm using a favourite stamp of mine, Perfect Peonies (Clearly Besotted).  I love this sweet stamp and die.  I stamped onto mixed media paper and then watercoloured.  I kept changing my mind about the colours I wanted to add so started with a soft peach, then layered on top with fired brick and seedless preserves distress inks, and finally added a layer of wilted violet distress ink.  The paper couldn't take any more layers before it would start pilling, so I had to stop. :)  Bright green for the leaves.

I die-cut the card front with a pretty corner die from AliExpress.  Then added my die-cut peonies so that they went off the edge, trimming away the excess.  Final step was to stamp the sentiment 'Love you" (Cosmos - retired: Technique Tuesday).

Heading over to NBUS #20 to add the above card.

Trina is our host.

CAS Christmas Reminder.  What do you think of purple poinsettias??!!  Turns out there is such a thing, although I've never seen one in real life.  I started by created an angled panel from my main panel.  It's a layout that I rarely use, but it just seemed right for this design.  I white heat embossed the simple sentiment at the bottom of the black panel which gives a lot of contrast to all the white space.  The poinsettias - Holiday Bouquet (Avery Elle) were stamped on to mixed media paper and die-cut using a matching die Holiday Bouquet Elle-ments (Avery Elle).  The image was watercoloured with distress inks.  Sparkle was added to the flowers with a clear Wink of Stella pen.  Crystal drops were added to the berries and the whole thing was splattered with white to lighten the image a bit.

I hope you'll check out the challenge blogs to see the amazing cards from our Designers, Guest Designers, and participants.  If you haven't had time to play along, there's over a week left before both challenges close on 24th at midnight PST.  Come join us!

This is the final challenge for CAS Mix Up and CAS Christmas for 2020.  Thanks to all my followers for supporting me over the past year.

So incredibly gorgeous on both counts, Loll! I can see a hint of other color around the edges of the purple on your first card and it's a lovely touch. Fabulous purple poinsettias on your second card, outstanding against the black! I see you double-layered the die cut poinsettias, too. A work of art!

Lovely feast of purple on today's post! Beautiful off the edge stamping, nicely balanced by the die cut on the first card. And the purple is such a wonderful vibrant contrast to the black on the second card!

It was time to stop with the first flowers because they are a beautiful color, Lolly! Love that die cut in the top corner! This is such a pretty, feminine card! The purple poinsettias are so pretty against the black background! Love that interesting layout! Two awesome cards, my friend!

So gorgeous Loll and love the prettily watercoloured peony with that wonderful corner die, and then the dramatic look on black card using a beautiful winter floral, and the purple poinsettia is just brilliant. I too have never seen one, but they are so gorgeous. I love the angled shape to the mat too. x

What a beautiful and elegant off-the-edge card, Loll! The pretty white-on-white corner die-cut strikes a good balance with the peonies at the opposite corner. The layers of colors for the flowers are simply gorgeous. You gave me this stamp & die set, so I'll definitely case your card.
I love these purple poinsettias! They look so noble and striking against the black background. The angled panel design is so cool and looks modern with the black and white color combo. The white spatters are the perfect finishing touch!

These are both absolutely BEAUTIFUL Loll!! I love purple so you had me right from the get go with both of these cards! And I had a real purple Poinsettia last year at Christmas, although I think mine was dyed. One of our local shops had all different colors of Poinsettia's besides the traditional colors and when I saw the purple I just HAD to have it! But anyway, both of your cards are just lovely!! Hugs. :0)

Love the clean appeal of the first card, the added die cut corner is a beautiful compliment, such a classy card. Purple poinsettias work for me. The black angled panel adds to the velvety look of your watercolouring. Two beauties. I will be missing you ...a lot! ...but I will visit regularly xx

Now that I've seen your poinsettias, I think they should come in purple :) I love how you placed yours on a black background, too...the perfect CAS card! xx
