The Flower Challenge #56 Reminder

Hi eveyone.  It's already half way through May so time for a reminder card for The Flower Challenge #56.

This time I went for my favourite flower that is in bloom all over the Vancouver area in April/May ... Cherry Blossoms.  They only bloom for about 3 weeks and then they are gone until the next year.  The trees are just filled with the delicate blooms ... some white, some pale pink, and some dark pink.

I used the Cherry Blossom die (Penny Black).  Die-cut three times from watercolour paper, and watercoloured all the same using Delicata gold ink for the branches and leaves; Distress inks Kitsch Flamingo and Picked Raspberry for the blossoms.  Used one of the watercoloured die-cuts to create a background print of lots of blossoms and shaped the other two using a sponge mat and stylus to add depth and dimension.  Adhered the two shaped branches overtop of the prints.  Added a simple Hello sentiment (Happy Messages - Stampendous) stamped in gold for the sentiment.

Close-up ...
So happy to have our Guest Designer, BozenA (ArtCardBox) joining us with a reminder card.!  Please check out the challenge blog to see the amazing flower cards from our Designers and Guest Designer, BozenA.

Hope to see you in the gallery!

Such a beautiful card Loll. The blossom is spectacular here in the UK at the moment, it fills my heart with joy every time I see it x

Yes we too have the beautiful blossoms but once the rain comes the blossoms go, which is such a shame. Your card is so pretty Loll, with the most delicate background and the prettiest of pink blossoms x.

This is so pretty, I love the shadowy effect, it gives the illusion of a tree full of blossom. I love the cherry tree season too and make a point of walking round my local area to admire the trees. It is important as they don't last long. There are one or two just hanging on here but mostly they are over now xx

You have to enjoy them so fast but they are gorgeous. This card captures them so beautifully and these will stay!

I'm sure those blossoming trees are just gorgeous, Loll, and so is your card. That soft print in the background really adds dimension.

WOW! Printing with dies in the background makes twice as many flowers. As if I immersed myself in a cherry orchard. I love that Loll card. So artistic!

It's so beautiful, Loll! I love how you added the flowers to the background to create the full look of the cherry blossoms! Also your touch on the die cut flowers to give them some dimension truly makes a huge difference!

Oh, my goodness gracious, your card is the most absolutely gorgeous thing I've seen in ages! I'm agog. Thank you, too, for sharing the photos of all those lovely cherry trees. Our cherry tree is done now. You're right about how quickly they go. I do love all the pink on the ground for that brief period, too.

Gorgeous watercolored die cut cherry blossoms, Lolly. Love your cherry blossoms prints background too. The dimension is amazing and looks so real. All our flowering cherry blossom trees are finished blooming and beautiful with their new leaves. We have 12 (4 different varieties) of blooming cherry blossom trees in our gardens, so I think it must be one our favorite trees and flowers too:-) TFS your beautiful card and BC cherry blossom blooming trees photos. Love and Hugs...Nancy
