Today I used again, the new Penny Black die called Viewpoint (51-724). This is an interesting window die. I've used it with the basic window, but there are also shadows that you can add in to create the look of depth for the window.
I started by softly sponging two shades of green at the bottom of my mixed media paper (distress inks: Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint). Then I sponged two shades of ink at the top (Broken China, Salvaged Patina). I stamped both the leafy images from the Brilliance stamp set, inking with Peeled paint for the leaves and Festive Berries for the berries. I used a bit more ink and a wet paint brush to move colour around.
I wanted to add some texture with falling snow, so used Stampendous Chunky White Frantage. I placed my card front in my griddle on low heat, sprinkled with the frantage, placed a lid over top and then waited about five minutes for the embossing powder to melt.
To finish the card, I die-cut three of the window frames. I stamped the sentiment from the Penny Black Hug a Snowman stamp set (30-887) in the middle of one frame and heat embossed in red. Then I glued the frames together with the sentiment one on top, and then adhered the group of frames onto my image. Finally attached the whole thing to my card base.

A shame you missed the deadline with this gorgeous card Loll, and I love the colours and the white frantage for lots of wonderful falling snow and the sentiment across the frame works brilliantly. I have often gone to enter a card only to find it is too late..mutter, mutter..lol. x

Super card Loll, what a great design. I have something which I think is similar to Stampendous Chunky White Frantage, but it's difficult to get it to stay in place using a heat gun. Thanks for the tip about using a griddle. I'll have to give it a try. xx

This is the most beautiful winter scene Loll. The colour blending looks so pretty and the stamping and colouring is perfect x. I love how the sentiment ties in with the die cut window frame and a 'home' idea x. Extra loving the frantage chunky snow and thanks for the reminder about the griddle...in my case a pancake maker x. What a beautiful scene outside the window. It looks so real and the snow is awesome. Snow is great on cards, not so much on the streets.

Your scene is lovely, the berry branch is definitely pretty. I also had a fun laugh but one of wonder as I try to image "griddling" your frantage! In my mind, I see myself with frantage all over the griddle, and paper on fire -- I think I'll leave that technique to you since you handled it SO well

Your sponging of the background and the coloring are so beautiful as ever but I'm so impressed with the way you made the "falling snow". I haven't used my griddle and Chunky White Frantage since I tried the encrusted jewel technique 2 years ago. You inspired me to use it again this way for falling snow! Thank you!

WOW! This winter window scene is amazing. I have the impression that I am in the middle of the room, and outside the window is harsh winter and heavy snowfall. It's sweet when I have a hot pile of tea in my hand ... This card takes me to the world that you have created and it is so amazing!
