CAS Mix Up January Reminder

Hi everyone.  I'm back with a reminder card for this month's CAS Mix Up Challenge - Loose Watercolouring, hosted by Jenny.  I'm a "colour inside the lines" kinda gal, so Loose Watercolouring is a little bit of a stretch for me.  The best thing was to find a technique that worked for me, and I did on YouTube (see link below).

Click HERE to see Simple Misty Loose Watercolouring.  I think it's a great way for a beginner (like me) to try Loose Watercolouring.  I did change it up a little, using a stamp for my trees (Stampscapes Pine Row) and not hand painting them.  I then used re-inkers to colour my trees, brushing the highly pigmented inks directly onto my tree stamp (Mowed Lawn, Rustic Wilderness, and Blueprint Sketch re-inkers).   I still added water to the watercolour paper before stamping, with a little at the top and heavier water at the area that would become the bottom of the trees.  A simple sentiment  and die-cut frame finishes the card.

I'm so happy how my card turned out and look forward to making more cards using this very easy technique for Loose Watercoloured cards.  Thanks for this great challenge Jenny!

I love your Loose Watercoloring technique using reinkers, Lolly. I agree, this has been a fun challenge using different techniques by all the CMU Girls. Beautiful and creative cards in our gallery too. Love and Hugs..Nancy

Love this and you made it sound simple (I know better than to say that) so I may have to try it. Love the purple and green trees, a delight to the eyes. Thanks for describing your technique. Sounds fun to do too!

Your choice of colors is striking, Loll! The blue/purple sets off the shades of green so well. I, too, struggle with "loose watercoloring," so will check out the link you provided.

Loll, I watched the video and it was very informative, I love how your card came out! I think I am kind of like you, coloring inside the lines is the way I roll too! I really like how the colors blend out at the base of the trees!

I would never know that you're the least bit uncomfortable with this technique, Lolly! This looks like a pro did it! Fantastic, my friend!

Oh Loll, I love this card. The addition of the blue trees amongst the green add so much depth and interest. You certainly have this technique down pat.

This is beautiful loose watercoloring, Lolly! I have never done that technique and I love the results! I also love the unexpected surprise with the bright blue trees and sediment. Striking! Love, Dolly

This is great for your first try at this. You make it seem so easy and quick and it's beautiful. I have a hard time going outside the lines as we are taught to color inside the lines. It's like wearing checks with plaids, just can't make myself do that.

Wow, this card is so pretty and cool looking Loll! I love those trees, but I really love the way you "loosely" watercolored them. Not that I know much about that, so will have to go watch that video. You know me and watercoloring. lol Hugs, Brenda

I'll have to see this video. You've created a spectacular effect and to me it looks as though the sun is shining through the trees. And I do like an easy technique! x

The trees look wonderful, Loll, especially with the different colors. I love the way the water wicks the color at the bottom.
