July CAS Christmas Challenge - Santa

Hi everyone.  It's the start of the CAS Christmas challenge for July.  This month's challenge is hosted by the mega-talented Barb (Barb's Studio Creations).  So happy to have Barb back at CAS Christmas after being off for a while.  Welcome back BARB!

I started with a background I made last year during a Zoom call with my crafty friends.  We did "night skies" on watercolour paper with brushos.  Click HERE to see the first card I made using one of these backgrounds..  I simply stamped my new-to-me Christmas Night (Lavinia) stamp in black ink and heat embossed with clear to make it stand out more against the dark sky colours.  I tore a piece of white card stock, added crystal glaze along the torn edge and then sprinkled with glitter.  To finish, I stamped the sentiment (Christmas Sentiments - Gina Marie Designs) in black ink, clear heat embossed and then popped the whole panel up on my card base.

Close-up ...
You can see the texture of the cold press watercolour paper that's been black heat embossed.  With having the background already in my stash, this made for a very quick and easy card. :)

Please check out the challenge blog to see the amazing cards by our wonderful Designers.  I know you'll be inspired to play along.

Remember to keep your card design CAS following the rules on our challenge sidebar.  Thank you!

I'm sending this over to NBUS #40 Challenge.  The santa and sleigh image is inked for the first time with this card ...

I used snippets for the background and for the snow, so I'm sending my card over to the Snippets Playground Challenge #431.

A skunk??? Oh my gosh, how awful!!! She looks so regal in her photo...who would have guessed?
Your sky is so pretty, Loll! Great idea to use Brushos...it works perfectly with your Santa and reindeer silhouette, and I love that you used clear embossing powder to add shine to the images and sentiment! Another really beautiful Christmas card! xx

The shiny silhouette of Santa and his reindeer looks fabulous against the gorgeous Brusho sky, Loll! The sparkling edges of the snowbank are so pretty!
Jessie and Violetta's picture is just like a people's portrait picture, and they look like they're looking at you and talking to you. So adorable!! Alex is a wonderful photographer to capture the moment. Thanks for sharing!

You do such awesome night skies, Lolly! This one is perfect for showing off Santa and his reindeer flying through the sky! Jessie and Violetta are so pretty! Alex does a wonderful job of photographing them. Hope you had a lovely Canada Day!

I love Santa on his sleigh fly through that fabulous night sky Loll, and the white torn card snow hills look great and so sparkly with the crystal glaze. A beautiful card. What a pretty pair are Jessie and Violeta in these super photos and can only imagine how bad the smell of skunk must be for it to linger for so long..lol. x

I do so love this night sky Loll, your card is fabulous! Oh the girls look so beautiful! Love how they are sitting together. Oh no! Jessie had a run in with a skunk?!! I always worried about that with our little Jack Russell, but she never did get tangle up with one. That and I worried about a Coyote getting her. I hope the rest of the skunk smell soon leaves little Jessie, she is just to dang cute not to cuddle up to! lol Just look at that sweet little face! Violeta has a sweet little face too. I'm such a dog person. lol Love them to pieces! Hugs, Brenda

Your night sky is amazing considering you used Brushos, Loll. I have a hard time controlling them. Santa looks right at home flying through the sky on his way to deliver gifts.

WOW! Your night sky immediately reminded me of the northern lights, Loll. Great colors!
Pictures of the dogs are beautiful and the dogs themselves are adorable. I don't understand what happened to Jessie? Hope she's okay.

Beautiful. Amazing background. The texture from the watercolor paper showing through the embossing is so cool.

Jessie and Violeta are simply adorable. Poor Jessie getting skunked… we have skunks here, too, and smelling them indirectly is nasty… can imagine how much more horrendous it is with a direct spray. 🤢

Beautiful night sky Loll, love your Santa flying over the snow capped hills.
Poor Jessie getting skunked ♥ the smell takes so long to go, I remember when our old dog got sprayed, every time it rained months after she smelled of skunk :)

Linda said...

Loll, your Brusho's night sky is gorgeous and is perfect for Santa and his sleigh. Beautiful card.
