More Gesso Stenciling

Hi everyone.  On Sept. 1st, I posted a card for the CAS Mix Up September Challenge - Stenciling with Gesso.  I created a second card using the same technique, gesso and stencil, changing up the colours and the design a bit.

This time I used a panel of Baked Brown Sugar card stock(retired from SU!) for the backdrop of my stenciling with gesso.  I changed up the medium, using distress inks (Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin) instead of acrylic paints.  I again used my white Posca pen to outline the stenciling.

The sentiment (Blowout Birthday - retired from Poppy Stamps) is stamped in the same Baked Brown Sugar ink, stamping it several times, so it appears slightly darker and stands out on the card.  I love the addition of the torn edge to add another element to this CAS design.

I've even added a torn edge to the inside of the card to carry the theme from the front to the inside.

Thanks for stopping by!

I think I prefer this one to your blue and lime version, the torn edge loos v effective, especially repeated on the inside. :)

The leaves are lovely on that brown cardstock, Loll, and I love the torn edge. Outlining in white was a great idea. On my card some of the white shows naturally which I'm not sure is a good thing.

In addition to the stencil and gesso technique with your coloring, I also like how you stamped the sentiment to span the two layers. This is such a lovely stencil and your colors warm and hinting of fall.

This is a great design Loll and I love the caramel colour with the wonderful gessoed leaf design, and the torn edge works brilliantly. Both the last and this design and colour are fabulous, and what a great idea to add the piece inside the card too. x

Another fabulous gesso stenciled card, Loll! The change of colors and the torn edge design give this card a totally different look from your launch card. The echoing torn edge inside of the card will give the recipient a nice surprise when s/he opens the card. You gifted me a Birthday Blowout stamp set on my birthday and it's one of my favorite birthday sentiment sets. :-)

Great use of the technique! I love the torn kraft panel. I spent the afternoon playing with Gesso. I finally finished a card I was happy to share.

Two stunning cards, Loll. Bidding the craft panel into two parts allowed to create a set of two amazing cards. The use of gesso allowed for beautiful coloring on craft paper.
