Autumn Leaves

Hi everyone.  Today I'm played with a new-to-me product I bought from Simon Says Stamp - Glitz Glitter Gel.  I bought six mini tubs in a gorgeous array of colours.  This is my first time playing with them. :)  Turns out they are no longer available ... crazy!

I used a piece of patterned paper for the background.  I've had it for years!! ... probably almost 20 years.  I love the colours of the gorgeous fall leaves of the design.  I placed a stencil over top called Wander and Find (Carta Bella - retired).  I used Ripe Persimmon distress ink to add a fairly subtle shade of orange ink so that the design shows, but is not overwhemling as the stencil is very busy.  On top of that stencil, I used another stencil of a leaf sprig, Lovely Leaves from Wendy Vecchi (a gift from a sweet friend).  I sponged Rusty Hinge distress ink over top and left it to dry.  I then used a small sponge to add the glitz glitter gel, colour Sherbert, which is really a copper colour.  Once it was dry I outlined the leaves and stem with a gold metallic pen.

To finish the card I added a simple birthday sentiment (Many Everyday Messages - retired from Hero Arts) which is stamped in Versamark and heat embossed in gold.

Close-up ... this shows a bit more of the real glitz of the glitter ... so much better in real life. :)

I'm playing along with several challenges this time ...

My second entry into the new Stencil Fun challenge.  It's Stenciling - Anything Goes each month with optional twist.  I didn't do the twist again. :)

I'm also playing along with another of the challenges from Diane & Darlene - Double D Challenge - Octoberfest ... love this mood board, inspired by the gorgeous colours of those trees!

And ... because I used a new-to-me product and some very old never-before-used paper, I'm adding this to the NBUS Challenge #43.

Thanks for stopping by!

That Glitz Glitter Gel is fantastic Loll and love the patterned paper with the stencilling, and then the focal image stencil of the leaf sprig which is beautiful and so lush with the glitzy finish..the gold gel pen outline finishes it brilliantly. x

Oh what a lovely card Loll - love how you kept the stencilled background muted so the leaves could really shine!

Gorgeous Fall Foliage, makes for such a beautiful card! Make sure you cover the tops after opening with saran wrap or stick and seal, they can dry out and then they become hard to use! Thanks so much for playing along with us at The Double D, Octoberfest. Donna, DT Member.

The stenciled leaves over pattern paper is so pretty. The glitz glitter really adds such shine and beauty to the leaves. It's so pretty I wonder why they discontinued it.

Jeez, get outta town, Loll! This is so gorgeous with the rich background and your gilded leaves. One of my favorite stencils, too. You made it look extra special. Hey, it's good to see you in our Octoberfest challenge at Double D!

I love the lots of pretty sparkle of the leaves, Loll! I also love how you made the background (stenciling over the patterned paper). The base pattern colors have "aged" and become rich for the last 20 years. ;-)

I would normally start off with a "Wowza" for a card this stunning, Lolly, but it doesn't even hold up to the amazing glittery design of this wonderful fall birthday card! I'm so glad you were able to capture a lot of the schparkle with your closeup. Outlining it with the gold metallic pen is the icing on the cake! Thank you for inspiring everyone at NBUS! Love, Dolly
