More Holly - Quick and Simple cards

Hi everyone.

I wanted to create some quick cards to add to my Christmas card stash, so I used the Split 4 Stamping technique.  Here's a link to a video on how to do this fun and easy technique which creates 4 quick card fronts.

It's much easier to watch the video than me try to explain it.  Trust me, this makes quick card fronts.  I have done this before ... check out this post with three samples (12 card fronts).

I made my four card fronts using the Penny Black Endearing stencil.  I started with sponging distress inks (Mowed Lawn, Rustic Wilderness) over top of the stencil onto regular white card stock.  I didn't mask the berries ... just sponged over the whole stencil.  To add red berries over the green sponged ink, I used red acrylic paint and the end of my stylus - worked great!

I splattered white paint over the card front to add some interest.  I felt it still needed a little somethin', so I used my silver permanent pen to outline the holly leaves and berries.  Now I was happy with how it looked.  Finished the card by stamping the sentiment (Christmas Moments - Penny Black).  I kept aside one of the card fronts, cutting it up to create strips of stenciled holly for the inside of the other three cards.

So happy that I created three quick and easy cards with this fun technique. :)

A great way to make 'fast' cards Loll, and some wonderful results. Great idea to use one front for the inside decorations of the three others

The stencilled holly is so pretty and quintessentially Christmas, and the technique of stamping on a larger piece to cut up and make four cards is a great idea Loll and I may give this a go myself...I did take a look at the video too. I think your suggestion of using a ball tool to add the little berries has worked perfectly and the added sentiment in red coordinates beautifully. x
