Stenciled Snowflakes

Hi everyone.  A quick and simple card using a wonderful snowflake stencil (Memory Box - retired).  I attached it to my white card stock and sponged over top with Salvaged Patina distress ink.  I made it darker at the top and lighter as I went down the page, fading out to white (ombre technique).  I cut the panel to size and added two torn snow hills from white card stock, layered at the bottom.

I used a sweet deer die (Deer Trio from Impression Obsession), cut from kraft card stock, with added details for the eyes and hoofs and sponging around the outside of the die-cut.  To finish, I popped up the deer over the background and then popped the whole panel on top of my card base.  The sentiment (Snowglobe Sayings - retired from My Favorite Things) is stamped in Gathered Twigs distress ink.

I'm sending this card over to the Peace on Earth Challenge #29.  LOVE the mood board and used the top right photo as my inspiration for my card. :)

I'm also playing along with the Stencil Fun December challenge.  It's Stenciling - Anything Goes each month with optional twist (December - Holiday).   :)

This snowflake background is so pretty using the Salvaged Patina ink Loll, and love the die cut deer cut from kraft with just some shading and his eyes and nose added as well as his hooves emphasised with the black marker, which works really well, also your added white torn card snow hills finish the scene beautifully. x

Your snowflake stenciled background is so delicately beautiful. Whisper quiet for your snowy landscape and the deer. Rather breathtaking really. I can't stop looking at that gorgeous sky.

Too bad that stencil is retired, Loll. Usually you stencil the snowflakes themselves and not the background. I love your little deer with all the details. Great winter card!

Such a pretty stencil Loll, why do companies always retire the good lines?!
Those IO deer die cuts are just so useful aren't they. :)

This snowflake stencil has the most beautiful snowflakes in it. The Salvaged Patina is a gorgeous color in your ombre background. It is a treat for the eyes after so much greyness here.

This is sooo pretty, Loll! Love the softly stenciled snowflakes background and the sweet deer. The added shading makes a big difference. I love MFT's Snow Globe Sentiment stamp set so much that I bought another set before it retired. ;-)
