Huge Thanks

Hi everyone.  A quick card using one of my new sets from Pinkfresh Studio.  Have to be honest.  I started by heat embossing the matching image.  It didn't go well.  The etching of the stamp image is very light and shallow.  It took me several tries of restamping and heat embossing to get the whole image embossed.  And by then, it was very noticable that some areas where thick and some thin.  I do like the stencils and will definitely get good use from them, but not a fan of their stamps so probably won't be buying more.  For this image, there are 5 layering stencils, but I only used four. :)

Not only is this a NBUS stencil, but I also used my Saltwater Taffy distress ink for the first time.  LOVE the colour!  So I'm sending this card over to NBUS Challenge #46 (second entry).  :)

And, I'm going to send this to the card to the January Stencil Fun Challenge.  I didn't use the option of Winter this time. :)

It will be a great reference for our group and for any of those

We hope you'll check out our new blog to see what we are all about.
Then come join us monthly for our take on techniques.

What a shame that the stamps didn't work for you, but your stencilled image looks amazing. I love saltwater taffy too. I still don't have any layered stencils in my stash, I expect that will change soon. Good luck with the new venture, what a wonderful idea. I have, of course, become a follower xx

Very pretty in lovely colours. Interesting that you created it with stencil layering - I assumed at first it was layered stamping.

The card looks beautiful just stenciled, Loll. Sorry it was so frustrating to try to heat emboss it.
The new adventure sounds like a lot of fun. I can't wait to be inspired.

Gosh, this sure is pretty, Loll! Very springy and fresh. I've wondered about the stencils. I've had trouble with the stamps, too. One set is not yet used, so we'll see how that goes. I'm heading over to the new blog right now. It sounds fabulous! Thanks!

This new blog is such a great idea Loll and have become a follower and look forward to your first post! I was so excited I forgot to say what a really pretty card using the layered stencil, and the colours are just beautiful. Sorry you were not so impressed with the stamp though. x

How frustrating not to be able to emboss a stamped image - I had the same happen recently. Love this beautifully stencilled card Loll.

Beautiful card! I’m interested in the new blog - I followed your link to it, and am trying to find how to subscribe to it. It gives the option to “follow”, but when I tried that, I got the message that I would have to go to blogger to see stuff. I’m lazy (and forgetful), so would like to get email notices. Is this possible? Thanks so much.

Great to hear about the new blog. Another well of knowledge about cardmaking. Already subscribed :-)
I love this card, these flowers look really beautiful. The imperfections of the translator did not allow me to discover the details that disturb you in the stamps of this company. I don't know exactly what happened that you are discouraged, but the templates did a great job.
hugs and Happy New Year, Loll!

Difficulties aside, I think you nailed it, Loll. This is gorgeous and the soft, subtle colors are wonderful. I too have a few stamps that are frustrating and unable to get a good stamp, maybe you've helped me discover the reason. Now off to check out your new blog :o)

Your stenciled card is absolutely BEAUTIFUL Loll, but I'm bummed you had such a hard time with the outline stamp image! I too wonder if it was defective as I have always had wonderful coverage with my PFS stamps! I would contact them as their products are just too pretty not to use! Will also have to check out your new blog and see what you ladies are up to...I'm always looking for new ideas!! Hugs. :0)

This is a beautiful stenciled card. The shading is so pretty. You used the words I use so much in card making - "It didn't go well". I'm glad you kept at it and created this wonderful card.

Fabulous stencilling. Very soft and pretty. That’s too bad about the stamp… hate it when that happens.
