Hi everyone. Just a reminder of the CAS Christmas August Challenge - Sleigh. The challenge is open until Aug. 31.
Smooshed a piece of mixed media paper and once dry, stamped my image in black pigment ink and heat embossed in clear. Watercoloured using distress inks.
Two strips of torn white paper are added to the bottom for snowhills and a simple sentiment is stamped in black ink. Splattered diluted white paint for falling snow.

This is a reminder for the CAS Mix Up August Challenge - Stenciling over Patterned Paper. The challenge is open until Aug. 31.
I used this beautiful background paper from Honey Bee, stenciling overtop with the Farmhouse Tree Stencil (Honey Bee). I started with layers of distress Inks (Mowed Lawn, Rustic Wilderness) and let it dry thoroughly before stenciling overtop with Versamark and sprinkling with White embossing powder. I heat set and also stamped and heat set the sentiment (Christmas Sentiments - Penny Black) as well. To finish, I trimmed the panel down to size, allowing more white space on my card front.

This card only took me about 10 minutes to make and I love how it turned out. I have more of these papers, so made more of the same design, just swapping out the background paper and changing ink colours. Great way to build my Christmas card stash! :)

A great duo of Christmas cards! Love the fun sleigh with the tiny reindeer - not sure they could manage to pull that sleigh! A wonderful stencilled tree - very effective with the snow layer.
Both methods of getting your Christmas cards made are definitely successful -- they're both great! I love that one is CAS and one is another technique, but both have awesome outcomes. Way to get that stash closer to what it needs to be before Thanksgiving.

I'm a bit worried about those teeny reindeer thinking they are going to pull Santa's sleigh! Such a cute card. Your stenciling looks so pretty over that Honey Bee paper.

I love that green sleigh and it looks like Santa is training some baby reindeer to guide his sleigh. Such a fun Santa too! Your stenciled tree is so pretty on that patterned paper and I love the embossed snow!

Two super cards Loll, and I love your sweet Santa in his sleigh and he two cute little reindeer all beautifully watercoloured and the white paint used for the snow gives lots of texture. The colours of DI's work brilliantly over the patterned paper as the background to this pretty snowy tree and the spattered white falling snow looks great. x
