CAS Watercolour July Challenge

Hi everyone.  Today is the start of the CAS Watercolour July challenge.  This month's challenge is being hosted by Nancy.  This will be Nancy's last month as part of our CAS Watercolour Design Team.  I will miss you so much, my sweet friend!

I created the background for my card with Distress Oxide Inks (Wilted Violet, Candy Apple).  I stamped over top with a silhouette of wildflowers and added a white frame with black stamped sentiment.  Fun card to make!

CAS Mix Up July Challenge

Hi everyone.  It's the start of the CAS Mix Up July Challenge.  This month Bonnie has come up with a fun challenge for all of us!

Today I'm sharing something a little different.  I rarely used coloured card stock for my card bases and card front, but it just worked with this design. :)

I received this pretty flower die-cut from a sweet friend.  I die-cut it from hot press watercolour paper and watercoloured with distress inks.  I used my stylus and mat to add a bit of shaping to the petals and leaves.  And used a matching distress marker to add some details to the petals, along with a little bit of clear wink of stella for the flower centers.

I created my card base from green card stock, as well as a card front cut a bit smaller and with a die-cut stitched window.  I splattered a small piece of white card stock with the same green ink I used on the leaves of my flowers and then mounted it flat on top of my card base, popping up the card front over top.  I tucked my flowers and leaves just inside the window and glued in place.  The card front has a white heat embossed sentiment.

Merry Monday Farewell

Hi everyone.  Today I'm playing along with the last Merry Monday Challenge #296 - Rustic Christmas.  It's always good to make my Christmas cards throughout the year so there's no panic come November.  This challenge has helped me with that so I'm sad to see it ending.  Thanks to all the wonderful Designers that have kept us inspired weekly for many years!

The white tree was what I noticed first with the inspiration photo and then the warmth from the brown wood.   I think the colours of the sky look very rustic, so hoping this card qualifies.

I made a quick, clean and simple card using a wonderful die-cut paired with a Floating Alcohol Ink background.  The sentiment was stamped in brown ink to finish the card.

Penny Black - Framed Irises

Hi everyone.  I love these beautiful irises from Penny Black.  I stamped in Versamark and heat embossed in Liquid Platinum embossing powder onto Hot Press Watercolour paper.  I used a water brush and distress inks to watercolour and then fussy-cut the image.  It was a little delicate with some of the thin stems, but I got it worked out. :)

I die-cut a rectangle frame, popping it up over top of my card base and tucking the bottom of the iris stems in-behind.  I added a few pop dots and glue dots to secure the flower heads in place.  A sentiment was stamped several times (using the Misti) to get a clear image.  The inside sentiment says:  Have fun and smile today!
